anybody heard from SuperDave and Stephen? any other guy's headed out of there. The storm is 200 miles out and the water is already up the 17' seawall at Galveston, storm surge is expected at 20' or more last I heard. Authorities are calling it "certain death" for anyone who stays in the evacuation zone. Silver lives out by my sister, it's 30-40 miles from the coast as the crow flys, H-town authorities are saying for everyone out of the evacuation zone that lives on higher ground to stay put and weather out the storm, keeping traffic leaving to a minimum. Even up here where I live, 2 hours from Houston, the traffic is getting bad and gas has become a cocern. They say that Ike is bigger than Katrina right now, that's not good news...

Yall Houston peeps post up, we had at one time about 10-15 members from there, they come and go, but everyone post up and let us know your plans.

yall batton down the hatches guys, this is gonna be a big one. They're calling for 55mph winds gusting to 70mph tonight up here. Tomorrow it's 60mph sustained w/ gusts to 85mph, that's 2 hours inland.

its supposed to hit in a few more hours...go around my area, accourding to the news we're supposed to get the just the edge of the harsh winds. anyways i'm outside now with my laptop with most of the folks in my block and its damn nice out. a little wind but just nice beach winds...oh well in few more hours...
