I'm so sick of this RDA bullshit being thrown around time and time again by reporters and so-called experts. The RDA is the minimum requirements to stave off deficiency diseases, such as scurvy, rickets, etc... There's a big difference between just narrowly not having your teeth fall out, and being at a point of optimal health.
 
If I folled the food guide pyramid deal I'd be living on bread, fruit, and snackwell cookies and I'd probably have an ass as wide as car.

My first thought though when I read "If you're eating two energy bars a day, plus a protein shake" my first thought was "well you must not like to cook much". ;)

Well...If you don't agree that 500% of the RDA is too much...you don't know very much about nutrition. Most nutritionists recommend somewhere between 100% and 200%.
 
If you want to look like an RDA and FDA guidline twig... then eat as they suggest.

Otherwise, well..... you know the rest.

Hmmm.... yeah, that's it. I don't know shit about nutrition. LOL.

...500% of Vitamin A or D is a lot, as well as with certain minerals. Sure, that's a given. 500% of the RDA on the water solubles though... that's barely scratching the surface. Also, I'd be wary of the advice of 'most nutritionists', you'd be shocked at the bullshit they still pawn off in college nutrition courses.
