Haven't read his book. But have tried a number of his programs - which are all pretty damn good. Focuses more on bringing Anterior/Posterior and Upper Body/Lower Body strengths to equilibrium.
Typically the splits are:
Monday - Lift - Chest & Back
Tuesday - Lift - Quad dominant
Wednesday -OFF
Thursday - Lift - Chest & Back
Friday - Lift - Ham/Hip Dominant
Saturday - OFF
Sunday - OFF
