i wish this whole "punk" scene would just DIE already

fuckin good charlotte and all this other shit. AFI, all the pop-punk crap, etc

they're all a bunch of posers and so are the fans. there's people here in rural wisconsin that wear eye shadow w/ mowhawks and leather. lololol like i said, a bunch of posers

trust me I feel the same of heavy metal shit, the growly yelling mushy speed shit, oh man cradle of filth is sooo good, and other gay bands like that, or what about the only dresscode those people know is black tight shit, with ugly dumb tattoos, piercings and stupid hot topic chains everywhere, and ugly white as ghost girlfriends.

trust me it goes both ways, thats why I only listen to the music and dont follow the trends

Im a cross between everything, mostly hip hop and punk

I hate Cradle. But I love shit like Slipknot, Machine Head, Deftones, Dry Kill Logic. They are fast & growly, but not goth.


And yes, Jeremys, Good Charlotte are one of the worst bands to ever walk the earth. I made a thread about them yesterday.

I hate all those people. Yesterday at Ozzfest ... Christ. Seemed like everyone's wardrobe was bought at Hot Topic. Fucking people who want to be "non-conformists." Well, then stop buying shit at Hot Topic ...

they were called "freaks" when i went to high school in rural wisconsin. but then again wisconsin isnt the epitome of open mindedness.

ill listen to GC, and other pop punk bands... but tru punk like NoFx rules all.. also i like rufio, no use for a name, fenix Tx, gold finger etc..

i do enjoy pop punk like allister, mest, nfg, etc..

but ill admit... i like blink alot, travis's drumming is fuckin awesome. also the lyrics are catchy..

Everyone in here should check out bands like Strung Out, Recover, Rise Against, and Thrice b4 bashing punk, metal seems to be the genre that high school nerds end up using to compensate for their lack of testosterone. I am a lover of all music, but don't let the fked up styles of some people to detriment your views of good punk rock and core styles.

i REALLY dont like punk at all. i hear the little 'doo doo do' shit and then the next step on the video is some gay ass skateboarder ready to break his nuts, sings with some weird nasal defect, etc

i just want to repeatedly stab them all in the nuts

strung out and thrice kick ass.. match book is one of my favorite songs, along with see you in the shallows and so strange i remember you.. kick ass guitar riffs too
 
I have been listening to "punk" music for about 9 or more years, metal for about 10.

none of the bands mentioned "cut it" in terms of their respective genre.

there are so many good punk bands.....and they all get pushed aside for being too "hardcore" (my fav style of punk)

same goes for metal.....everyone listens to shitty jump/sports/fag metal (slipknot, disturbed etc) and thinks ts the hardest shit on earth.

the white stripes are a "rock and roll band".....some other may include, the vines, the strokes. They all want to be the stooges......but no one can match iggy

Pop punk is shit in my town. There is a punk scene........struggling to stay alive with 20-30 dedicated people. Then you see 600 kids walking around in blink 182, strung out, millencolin shirts.

Ive been listening to punk since 1983. My first concert ever was Dead Kennedys in 84.
Dont even call Good Charlotte "punk". They dont even deserve the title 'mall punk. They are weaker than the weakest shit.

Good point ya know what I hate as well? People wear shirts, pants, and even worse socks. What do you care how those kids dress or choose to act? Do you go around yelling at people wearing Metallica or Anthrax shirts calling them posers cause they dont play in a rock and roll band? Do you yell at people wearing basketball jerseys calling them posers cause they like rap? Your like 17 aren't ya? It's about time you grow up and realize that it's none of your fucking business what these people do if it isn't hurting anybody.
 
u should watch "Salt Lake City Punk" (SLC punk) its a good movie and gets u inside the punk scene. kinda slow at times but still a good watch. plus the endind is good with a funny realization.

I'm the real thing, just haven't died yet. Punk the first time around was rebellion against the hippie motherfuckers. Only good hippie is a dead one! At the time I had a short hair cut which only the military had a shorter cut then mine and I stood out. My favorite T-shirt was a Black Flag T with Jim Jones handing out cool-aid at the last supper. Old guys will understand that one. Wish I could get that T again, I'd wear it to the gym. There is no punk now!

I respect all that stuff (i grew up playing in an indy rock band) and my brother is a DJ and producer.....he says the same shit. All the crap stuff goes number one...and the real deal struggles to survive.

Not to shit on "major label" bands......i do like a lot of stuff on major labels

I like some of the new stuff but it does not even come close to old Slayer, Venom, Sabbath and shit like that.

I am by no means a punk, although I do listen to a bit of it when the mood so strikes me. NOFX, Operation Ivy, The Offspring, AFI, and others.

I am no poseur. At all. Of any kind. Ever.

Nor do I think the bands I listed are. I think they do what they do because they derive enjoyment from doing it.

Why does that make you feel uncomfortable? Do they complain about you and people like you?

I am sure that someone, somewhere, could complain about you, and call you a poseur, if they so wished to.

Consider that, as well as the smallness of your mind.

They have some good new stuff out, including a cover of an Italian opera song. Godly. Eric has a great voice; he could top Bruce.
 
i'm complaining about the wannabes who jump on the most modern bandwagon. this does include like 90% of all 'punks'..seeing as they'll dress a certain way to go out and look 'cool' and then go home and dress up for dinner w/ their parents or something

besides, with nothing to bitch about, the world would be a boring place. so get off my ass
