lOL- got a funny story- once in college these chicks I know bought this thing that attached in between the cable and the tv- cause a dude on th street said it would give free cable... they gave the guy like 50 bucks... it was a splitter (he bought for like $1)...hahahaha

dumb broads for sure...

what the hell are you saying? i can't decipher your slang.

Ebay sells good cable boxes for pretty cheap, go there. However you may want to buy from an individual dealer, if you buy from a bulk dealer and they get busted they may eventually find out about you. Then again, chances of that are 1 in 10 or less.

In order for them to work you have to have cable. Either basic cable, classic cable, or broadband cable. And you can only get that particular companies analog PPV and premium channels, you can't get teh digital anything. And you can't get analog classic cable channels (history, comedy central, discovery, etc)

even for those analog boxes to work -- u gotta subscribe to NORMAL cable. Which means you only save like $10 or so a month.

Ever wonder why they keep baic charges so high, and all those movie channels are only like $10. To take away any real adv of owning a box.

Nah, in my experience the analog premiums are alot more expensive than the digital premiums. DIgital premiums are about $5 a set, analog premiums are closer to $5 a channel.

And you can get any cable to get channels. You can get basic (network) cable for $13 or you can get broadband.

jesus, 1 in 10 seems really high. anything safer??

Analog black boxes depending on your system won't work.....a lot of cable systems have gone digital, thus the analog black box is useless....

Also since they've gone digital, they took off all the analog pay channels, so nothing will show up anyway....

Also you need to get cable service to your house cuz without the switch turned on at the pole outside your house, even with the black box you won't get anything...

BTW, to combat illegal black box usage, the cable people can send a signal to your house or use a device to determine if you are stealing cable & they will prosecute you for theft of services, fraud, etc which is a hefty fine & jail time -- I've seen these cases go to court....

From what I've seen cable channels are $10 per channel. So that is more than $10 a month than all channel. I've had cable with 2 cable companies and both time all the movie channel were about $35 a month extra. That doesn't factor is pay per views either. I had a hotbox many years ago. I loved it. I wish I could get one that works with digital cable.

The first thing you need to do is wait until you have moved into the apartment before calling the cable company. Occasionally the cable will still be hooked up and you get free cable, so just hook your tv up and see. I found out when I was in college that the cable company will forget to turn the cable off when people cancel. They stop the billing, but forget to cut the service.

Or drill a hole in the wall and watch your neighbors TV. ;)

best way to fight calbe -- is to get satellite and hack it. Everyone can hack satellite tv. It's a fucking national hobby.

Everycable company has to offer analog cable for many more years and they have undetectable cable boxes.

This descambaler is Bulletproof & non-addressable

The Coolbox Optima carries a 30 day return policy and full one year warranty.

Coolbox Optima Features:

Top of the line Coolbox- The Optima represents the latest and greatest offering from the Coolbox manufacurer to date. The Optima has the most sophisticated descrambling technology along with a host of features.

Works in 99% of areas- with 2003 technology the coolbox has the ability to work in even the toughest areas.

Compatible with big screen T.V.s- with a high end tuner the Optima has a crystal clear picture well suited for todays big screen televisions. Of course it will have a perfect picture on smaller tv sizes as well.

Surround sound- The Optima contains a Sony digital processor fully compatible with Dolby surround sound. This is a rare feature and found only on high end descramblers.

Parental Control- Easy to use parental control allows parents to block channels from viewing. Only users with the parental control code can access blocked channels.

Bulletproof & non-addressable- Sophisticated technology makes the Optima impervious to cable company "bullets". The Optima is also non-addressable and undetectable.

Sound privacy- Each coolbox optima comes with sound privacy circuitry installed at no addtional charge. Without it, you might be missing sound on a select number of channels.

Hrc/Irc/Stnd- Switch on box allows users to switch between different cable company broadcasting modes. 99% use standard (stnd) by default, but in case your company uses another mode, they are available to you.

Automatic Fine Tuning- No more need to have to fine tune stations, with the Optima all tuning is fully automatic.

Works on Random Inversion- At the touch of a button you can restore an inverted picture.

Full 125 channels- Box is fully compatible with 125 cable channels. It will work on the first 125 channels of digital or analog (since digital cable companies must broadcast 125 analog channels as well). A box capable of more than 125 channels is useless since no company can broadcast more than 125 analog channels due to the limited bandwidth.

Program Favorite channels- With the press of a single button you can store your program in your favorite channel list so that later you quickly navigate thourgh the channels you most often watch.

SAP (second audio programming)- Allows users to access a second audio channel, which may include spanish.

Full function remote- High quality remote with all functions at your fingertips.

someone please help I do not know about all this engineer shit before it's locked!

tech freaks, SOS? are we chasing utopia or is free PPV a reality? I fear only BO-DEN has the answer, and yes that should scare you.

yea in case you didn't know he searches for threads with his name in them

anyway someone said you need to subscribe to cable in order to use a box - well - what if you have free basic cable? my friend just got some dude to come over and he busted out a ladder, climbed up a telephone and turned a switch. It took about 10 minutes and now my friend has free cable.

So wouldn't the box work now?

How about climbing the damn telephone pole and disconnecting the filter that allows you to have cable? The cable company does`nt even know you`re a subscriber and you have all the channels.

When you order cable, that`s all the guy does when he comes over, disconnect the filter at the pole. I paid a guy $150 about 10 years ago to unfilter HBO to a friend of mine`s house and it`s still working to this day. Now they could do it to all the channels.

I have satellite and loved the Hacked H cards (old ones) butit all over now. I`m not too savvy on the new tech.

JESUS

you guys are SICK3rd Power

I wish I had this much time to climb up telephone poles

I need to retire soon.

Will be calling Jim Carrey to get his cable guy suggestion soon.

I will pay anyone in Dallas as long as you aren't FBI or Comcast. Just be honest. I'm a sucker believe me easy target.

that's exactly what I was referring to......I didn't realize exactly what he did, only that it took about 5 seconds......this guy was hilarious too. He had a blue van with a fake company decal on the side to look all official. Then he had one of the those huge decals on his front window that said "PSYCHO"......smart guy.

bart you forgot to mention their disclaimer

thought i'd be a good bro and do so for u:

We do not advocate unauthorized use, or theft of cable services. We sell
converters/descramblers so our customers can:
Own their own equipment to reduce or eliminate rental fees, and/or possible damage charges.

È Take advantage of the latest technology in converters, and enjoy the extra features that will enhance their viewing pleasure and use the equipment as a second, or third setting when they are already fully activated and wish to view programs on more than one television.
È You must understand that certain television equipment sold legally can nonetheless be used in an unauthorized manner to aid in the illegal acquisition of cable television services. The law prohibits the reception of premium channels (including pay-per-view) without proper payment for all services received.
È Since your cable company has no way of knowing that you have your own cable equipment it is your responsibility to notify them of that. The purchaser must comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding the ownership of cable television equipment.
È You are also required by law to pay for all services received. Theft of cable services is illegal. Owning a descrambler does not give you the right to receive channels without paying for them. Theft of cable services (including pay-per-view, and premium channels) is illegal if you have not paid for them.

bran you are a good bud/bro/bor and all
but going to jail for something like pirated cable is pretty silly
imagine being bubba's bitch
for a few bucks

I know someone who has had a box for fifteen years. :verygood: I wouldn't worry about it and they can't pick up the good boxes with thier sniffers.

obi - thank you for taking my mind out of the gutter, and my ass out of the penitentiary. I owe you bor! I'd rather pay the bux.

look if you get something that you pay for the basic and by chance you get some freebies so be it
but looking for all of it free can put you in jeopardy
my satellite box comes with the basics and i added the movies and cheftv (go figure) but i also get "accidently" got all the premium channels but i am not going to tell'em that
would cost me 30 bucks more to keep it
lol
shhhhhhhhhhhhh

I'm not searching for my name -- I'm searching for subject lines that scream "IDIOTS POSTING HERE."

You want to be Bubba's biatch, tiger, go for it. Enough good bors stepped up to tell you you're an idiot, so as far as I'm concerned it's not EF's problem any more. If it had gone the other way, yeah, I'd stomp on this. You can't pay for plat with cigarettes and chocolate.

I hate cable.. I pay like 100 bucks a month for digital with HBo and two tvs when I move to Jersey cable isonly gonna be basic.. no digital

So will something like the Coolbox Optima work for me. Here is my set up...

Comcast cable (basic package -- Channels 2-70 -- Comedy Central, TNT, TBS, MTV, VH1, etc...basic).

We had a scam going... me and my 4 roommates in this house. One of the roommates had an account with Comcast where he said he was a father of a household, and had 6 TVs. We ordered that and got the movie package as well. They gave us 6 scientific atlanta boxes to sit on top of the TVs (wall --> cable box --> TV). Came out really cheap...bout $13/month/person for cable w/ 5 movie channels. Anyway, the guy who had the account moved out, and no one renewed the account. So now we don't have those little boxes on top of out tv's, and are back to basic cable (wall --> TV)

The reason I am asking is because on the website (http://www.cheap-cable-descramblers.com/cbxx.html) it says

The Coolbox Optima will successfully replace:

All scientific atlanta, including 8610x

Does this mean that I can't just buy the CoolBox Optima, and connect it to my TV...wall --> CoolBox --> TV... and get free movie channels?

Just because analog cable channels are still available doesn't mean that the cable companies are going to put their PPV channels on it....so why get a cable box so you can only get free A&E or basic cable channels?? That's stupid.....BTW any cable channels still offered in analog format are currently in transition to digital.....

BTW, a very very large cable company only has ONE movie channel available under analog format. The Movie Channel......so why would you want to pay the money for descrambler for one channel?? The Movie Channel is also slated to be converted by year end....

Also the Coolbox Optima in the other post specifically says the "first 125" channels, digital & analog. Our local cable company here in DE which is the same for PA doesn't even include any movie channels in the first 125 channels (7 channels per page, aprox 17 pages). This is going by the published guide on the TV using the remote......

Basically, the coolbox would work with cable ready tv. If the TV is cable ready then hook up the cable to the box then to the tv. You will get additional channels & maybe HBO if they are still 14 on cable ready tv's but I think Comcast scrambled it so you can't get it anymore.....

god damn alot of posts here

ok so what i leanred

wait to see if cable is already in

then click on link and buy that motherfucker right?

1) see if cable is hooked up & tv works....hook up tv to cable & see if you get any cable channels

2) Who is your cable provider?? What city/state are you in? Then I can tell you yes or nb

Also If you live in 4 or 6 family apartments, just get splitters and an amplifier and split the bill 4 or 6 ways.
