Today i did 4 sets of 135x12

OMFG is my back tight and sore.... not to mention my knees are really messed up!

I got a few of my buds to watch my form, and they told me it was perfect... i sure hope so because i'm adding weight next week! :D

I think his knees are sore from the bar traveling along his legs.

Bingo!

I wish I took videos... i'll try next time.

But yeah... knees are all red and bruised from the bar travelling up and down. I got real short arms so it's harder on me, bah. I gotta keep it againt my legs the whole time. :(

my knees are always toast after deadlifting

Same here... I always leave the bar with a little more of my skin and blood attached to it than i woud like.....

Ugh...glad I don't have to deal with that. Doesn't touch my knees or my shins, conventional or sumo. Glad you found your "groove" though!! :)

Try placing the bar out in front of you more...so you are pulling the bar back. It allows you to use your bodyweight for more leverage (see-saw). Also allows you to pull in a straight line instead of out and around your knees.

I would suggest the exact oposite of what you said. I have a feeling the banged up knees is from pulling weight that is too far away; the weight ends swinging into your shins/knees. Now if you place the weight close to you it'll come up strait and won't touch your legs...

My 2 cents,
Ingram

I agree with you Ingram. I start out with the bar literally on my shins and I have never once touched my legs with it.

If it is on your shins, then you are already touching your legs with it.

I said it was literally on my shins......maybe an inch away.
I know you said literally on your shins. Literally on your shins would mean the bar was actually touching your shins. Perhaps you should have said "practically on my shins" or "almost on my shins".

yeah, you can increase weights in deadlifts very very fast. I just started doing them about a month ago, and I started with 135 too. LAst workout i did 215 for 10 reps. I hope the weight keeps increasing like that till I hit at least 300.
