I broke my middle finger

well folks, it seems walking on your hands on grass is a bad idea. I slipped my finger went the underneathe my hand and i fell breaking it, not completely, but just a crack. I wonder how this is going to affect my deads/cleans/and other lifts??

deit: o yea and i sprained my ankle too yesterday playing basketball, so no HIIT for a few days it seems. Atleast i can still squat without pain.

It shouldn't bother your lifts once it's healed. I know several rugby players who have brokrn all their fingers at least once and it hasn't effected their lifts.

yeah....... just heal..... i broke my finger past the last joint and couldnt grip anything for 5 weeks.......... just relax eat and grow.

Did it a lot trying block shots and breaking them into the rim. It also made shooting interesting.

Splint with popcicle sticks if you cant see a doc.

You'll be rockin' in a week or two.

I don't think a broken finger should be a problem. you have a few good ones left on that hand to compensate for the bad one. I broke my wrist 6 years ago and could almost do all my lifting work, BB back then, except pressing movements and deads. The f'n cast kept getting in the way. Well after about 4.5 weeks with the cast on I lost enough size in my left arm and i just pulled the cast off myself. Never did go back to the doc for it. I also cracked a finger about 7 yrs ago. I think I waited 3 weeks (AT THE MOST) and I was back busting ass in the gym. Oh yeah, and 5 yrs ago I had 2nd with a small amount of 3rd degree burns on my left hand. That shit took a bit longer to heal. I quit lifting for about 10 or 12 weeks then.

I used to be a walking hazard zone. :(

I don't think there is a finger I haven't broken.....twice

My left pinky sort of just hangs to the side because it got ripped sideways too many times and never healed....long story short....fingers are a inconvenience not an injury

Dude chill out with all the stunt performances you're going to get all messed up. Doing other sports or performances are a fast way to get hurt and slow your lifting progress, not that I don't do the same stupid shit every week I'm just saying. I always hurt myself outside the gym somehow slowing my progress. That's what the training is for though. That finger is going to make a lot of exercises with gripping difficult to impossible. I cut my little finger tendon years ago and was in a weird cast for a couple months but still managed to do squats, lat pulldowns, bench, shoulders, and a few tri exercises but bi's were almost completely off limits until the last few weeks of recovery.
