Atkins heh? It's a good diet to drop fat fast BUT having done the diet for 4 months and having lost about 40lbs of fat i can tell you that it will eat your muscles as well. It's a good diet with many benefits but i think it's not so great for atheletes.
After the diet i went into the gym and sqatted 135 and the bar fealt heavy as hell, it's like my spine was getting compressed. I hated it, but all in all the muscle came back and the fat stayed away. So while it's a worthwhile system, there are more efficient ways to do it.
