I am really down in the dumpsters ... should I do a cycle?

NO. No steroids for motivation. That is psychological dependance. Control yourself and try to stabilize your life without drugs or alcohol. Steroids should be used as performance enhancing drugs only; to get you beyond that point.

congrats on being clean for 2 years bro, if you relapsed for a week just accept it and get sober again. You ask if you should start a cycle, I assume by your high post count that you have afew cycles under your belt. Well if you've been training and eating right I would say wait a month or so, clear your head and get your mind straight then consider a cycle. If you havent been training and eating properly no start doing that for a few months first. And hey I know your struggle with sobriety bro, relapses happen just accept that it happened and move on. I've been sober going on 3 years now I've relapsed, but its in the past and sobriety is in the future. Good luck brother stay strong

No I don't think you should. After 2 years of being sober you might want to stay away from any kind of drugs as it seems you are prone to getting addicted. And many people will say steroids can get addicting (while I just think the making you feel good when your on them is really what is addicting and not the steroids themselves) Might be best not to take anything.

LoneTree,

Its gonna happen once in a while. Do not let it get you down man, I know you feel like shit ( and thats just the booze doing a nice downer on your central nervous system ). Just try and figure out what triggered it and next time just do your best to avoid it.

Some cardio , and s-load of water and just time will get you out of the low.
If you did a bender then gear won't help.

My 2cents.

Hunter..

Awesome.

I request you look at the strength and fortitude of character to do what you just did, and then tell people about it.

And that you are talking about it also indicates it will be even less of a problem for you than you realise.

RESPECT.

One week out of two years, that is a wee drop in the bucket hun.

Think of it in these terms. You have been on a great diet and making progress, but you have a couple of cheat meals on the weekend.

Does it mean you have blown your diet?

Of course it doesn't.

It has had you realise though how CRAP you feel when you break the diet, have that drink.

Just a little reminder about how much better things are when you don't drink.

Thank you very much every one for your time and effort to encourage me.
It is a slippery slope of deluding yourself that you have gained 'control' over it.
Once again I learned that the best way is never to step on the path.
And keep on telling myself that 'I don't need it'.

Once again, I really appreciate every one for your help and encouragement. It is a great morale booster to know that there are people who care enough to spend their time and effort to help you.

To answer one question, I told myself that my health was worth more than the bottle of Cognac. If I had not done that during a moment of strength, it would have ended up in my body.

Once again, thank you very much.

don't replace one vice with another bro....it's not going to fill that void.

glad alot of bro's came out with some good advice on this thread. you slipped momentarily, but you'll be ok. make sure you got everything in check, then if you want to do a cycle once you're stabilized and in the right mindset..go for it.

This is what I did, and it worked for me. I was down at rock bottom 2.7 years ago when I was comming off of a 10yr addiction to pain meds -AND- my girl of 17yrs filed for divorce. Hell, I wasn't at rock bottom, I was in the basement of rock bottom. My regular doc got me on anti-depressant (Wellbutrin). I then went in the gym and trained hard naturally, for a while till the Wellbutrin leveled out (approx 2 months). Feeling much, much better I then started juice and haven't stopped lifting since. Moral of the story..there are very good anti-depressants out there and only do the juice when you are not depressed anymore.

I agree half. That's like making chemo jokes to a cancer patient.

People don't understand how terrible that disease is. It will take everything you have. Then it will take you. I'm in my 8th year of sobriety.
I work with and sponser guys trying to get sober. It's nothing to joke about.

Your analogy about cancer patients is right on. Slips happen, so you get back on the wagon ASAP. Which he is doing. I advised him to NOT run a cycle right now, until he gets ahandle on this situation
I have been sober for nearly 8 years.

I was being sarcastic , if you have read some of my other posts you would see I have suffered from addiction as well..

Goodluck to you in your recovery , In my opinion you shouldn't turn to any substance to get you through tough times, but its never that easy. Keep your head up and take it one day at a time. Don't think about the past just look forward bro!

Have a good night :frsty:

all joking aside

we have all been there in one way or another:)

either with relationships, struggles or substances.

Just dont evern forget if you really wan to you can do it.

Hell no.

You have deeper issues going on that need to be dealt with. Trust me, I've been there. Gear will only make matters worse.

You obviously want to stay sober which is amazing. Many people don't realize there is a problem and it destroys them. You clearly show you have a lot of strength, especially to be open about it. Just remember if you ever feel like your going to fall off the wagon again or have another almost episode try to come to this board first. There are so many good people that will be able to help you and talk you out of it. You obviously realize that the booze had a huge negative impact in your life and I think sometimes all someone needs is to talk to someone, especially to have a discussion board to come to where mostly everyone is here for one another. So again if you ever feeling in the dumps again drop a post, send some messages and wait for replies, we're here to help!

2+ years sober is awesome--you are obviously stronger than the average person, but don't be afraid to reach out as we all need a bit of help sometime--do a cycle when you want to not when you need to. good luck bro.

are you already training and eating well?

Never been addicted to anything in my life and Ive dabbled in everything from cigarettes and weed to blow and painkillers. The only drug I can say that I am truly afraid of being addicted to is steroids. Do what the rest of the good bros on the board said and clear your head for a little while. I dont think there is anything wrong with letting a cycle help you over the hump, just dont soley depend on it and let it become your next alcohol.
