htf do you do an atkins diet?

Atkins diet has 4 phases, by the fourth, on is eating like 80g carb per day, its not a bad diet. It isnt >20g carbs for life. You should advise her to try BFL first and see how that works before she jumps into keto.

I seriously doubt his diet had anything to do with his death or his heart problems before that.

He died do to complications from a fall during the last Snowstorm in April that hit New York. I think his age might play a bigger role too, considering he was in his mid 70's.

right.

He slipped on ICE.

THere were no heart problems.

You can't honestly tell me, you would recommend a CKD, but not atkins...just because you get to glut 1 day a week???

Dude chill.

It was major news about his fall and subsequent death. Noone ever said that he didn't have heart problems. Hell the man himself said that he had heart problems, but they were not diet related. And who said that they recommend a CKD over Atkins because of the free day? I certainly didn't. I just recommended something that was a tad bit better than atkins.

what is wrong with choosing a free day over no free day, it has lots of benefits to the diet as well as something to look forward thats shortterm, instead of in 3 months. Its hard for some people to stay motivated for long periods of time, that refeed day makes it easier.

oh well, shes never gonna lose the weight. She is too lazy. that is why she wants to do atkins coz supposedly you can eat anything that has no carbs in it (eggs, bacon etc.) because shes greedy also.
Atkins is best for those people; untrained individuals have a low tolerance for insulin, they put on fat more easily with carbs than those who regularly work out.
She should definitly do it but - as has been said before - she has to be aware to do it for the rest of her life! I am on it for a year now and feel great but always when i went over ~100g carbs a day i regained the fat in no time.
Atkins is also good for those bodybuilders who don't tolerate carbs. i have worked my ass off for years and never got decent abs; now i am ripped throughout the year but also have the same muscle mass and strength i had in my fat carb days.

whatever diet she chooses to do, she should research it first before jumping into it! most of the diets are outlined in detail in books.

and regarding your atkins diet - NO, she can't eat as much as she wants. it doesn't work like that. she should eat under her daily maintenance levels to lose weght/fat.

Tell her to go to Amazon.com and buy the book. That way she knows the truth not opinions and when in induction it is not good if working out hard. You can do it but you feel tried.

Millie, have you read the book? in the first chapter he says the reason the diet works is because people can eat as much as they want.
He also talks about one guy who would eat 10 eggs with bacon for breakfast.
during the induction phase you are supposed to eat until you are full.
I can't find anywhere in the book where it says you are supposed watch how many callories are consumed
