How safe is the withdrawal method during sex?

I was wondering when using this method if there was any risk even if I withdraw well before cumming, because pre-cum (you know the clear fluid ejected before cumming) does contain some semen but I have heard that it is unlikely to cause prenancy....is this true??

It's safe to a point. I learned the hard way that the more you use this method with someone, the harder it is to withdrawl in time all the time.

Well your chance is very low as long as you/he (not sure of your gender) pull out before cumming....you have even a greater risk if you have sex again after that since there is sperm in the tube....the failure rate is mainly due to not pulling out in time and/or having multiple sessions..the failure rate is about that same as condoms......

assuming you pull out and everything is good, but in terms of easyness to mess up and the other problems you stated, it seems almost irresponsible to say that its the same as condoms

Well stat wise it is...look them up. However...you better be fine with making babies with the person you are with just incase...I have used it alot and never had problems...BUT I also know my cycle and that doubles the protection

If that is REALLY true then you might want to get your sperm count and mobility checked out (if you want to have kids...)
