How often do you......

This clean diet has got me feeling lean......but I know we arent suppose to step on the scale everyday ( even tho I do at the gym just to waste a minute between sets ) and figured we shouldnt get our B/F tested daily either.

I was told every 6-8 weeks, but wasnt too sure if I trusted that source :)

i've been testing mine about every other week... on tantia... i will get a good calliper reading to compare the numbers some time before the end of the month and then once a month after that... i would like to do underwater weighing, but i'm claustrophobic... doubt i'd be able to do it properly, i'd freak out, it would be like being in a revolving door underwater... eeek, i'm getting nervous just thinking about it!!!

I have no clue to this underwater testing.....where do you get it done at?? A hospital??

I had the gym owner do mine ; whether he is certified, I dont know. He is just my buddy. He used the calipers......had a trainer do me once also, and he used the same tool.

I have my own calipers and check about once a month. I've never really felt that mine are very accurate, consistently reading too lean IMO. I take the actual #s with a grain of salt, but monitor the trend instead. You definitely can't effect a significant change in your BF in a single day, though your readings could vary depending on user error and water retention.

If you're feeling good, definitely go and check it...it will just give you more positive feedback.

like to get bf% tested when I'm feeling really lean, been super clean on the diet
any other time -what's the point?... it becomes depressing or pisses me off

got access very soon to a free underwater bf test soon- and will compare it to calipers for accuracy for future caliper reference

Phem, are you talking about those Tanita scales?

no, i'm talking about a small little metal guy name tanita... cute, rides a horse, eats beef jerkey by the pound and makes cigars in his spare time... Yes, i'm talking about a Tantia scale, silly :D hand held one...

i know i know they're very inaccurate, but its either that or the stupid bia test that has never registered me below 20%, ever... i think there's something flawed about the calculations done when the numbers are entered into the computer... there's one line that says

if <20 then print "haha you're a fatass anyways"

hehe... not that that's fat, but i can safely say that i'm about 100% sure that my bf is and has been under 20% for quite some time now... but it sure did piss me off for the longest time..

as i said, i'll be trying to get a good pinching some time soon... but i also want to get a good set of pics done w/o those pesky bruises that the pinch tests give me... :(
