I still havent gotten a good idea about how many calories I should be taking in, in order to drop body fat and maintain the most amount of muscle....im 5'11 190, and will be doing HIIT 5 days a week, and lifting 4....how many cals should i be taking in TOTAL? not minus the cals from the cardio and lifting...? someone plz help
 
Here's what I would do.

Suppose your maintenence cals is 3000.
For the first week drop them to 2800.
2nd week 2600.
3rd week 2500.
Etc.

Do some carb cycling too.
I.E. Day1 350 carbs
Day 2 200 Carbs
Day 3 100 Carbs
Day 4 Cycle repeats.

On days you have less carbs you'll have to consume more protien.

This is just an idea of something that should help you lean out.
