looking for advice on how many sets to do when trying to bulk up i,ve read that one set is all you need and i,ve read about 10 sets of 10 is the way to go. i did the one set method i got stronger but i didn't get any bigger with th 10 sets of 10 i just felt really sore no gains i eat good diet and have been training for 3 years

There's no perfect answer, I like to use weight heavy enough to do 6-8 reps max when bulking and sets I just do however many I feel like untill my muscles pumped and close to exhausted. Everyone wants to put numbers on everything but that will never work the same for each person. I never in my life went into a workout worried about the numbers game, I simply work hard enough to pump up and usually just do reps till it burns for a couple and sets untill I feel a good pump. It's always different, for bulking I personally like the 6-8 rep to exhaustion but other guys might not, you need to find what your own body likes.

if u r bodybuilding 8-12 reps. concentrate on making the muscle work. i only use 6-10 working sets per body part total, not each exercise. sounds like u r overtraining. post up your exact routine.

try to go 4-6 reps if ur bulking and about 3sets per excersie
aim for about 12sets overall for each body muscle
