I can not hold on to a damn pair of sunglasses, cheap or expensive! So far this year:

1) Left a $50 pair of Nikes at my brothers house in Atlanta.
2) Lost a cheap pair at a bar.
3) Paid 80 bucks and left a good pair at a basketball game under the seat.
4) Had two cheap pairs stolen while on vacation.
5) My 6 year old sat on a pair I paid 5 euros for on the street in Rome.

Now I'm wearing a pair I bought for 10 euros at a highway rest stop and I am determined to keep them the rest of the summer!

zer0

i have 2, each worth about 10 bucks
ive had both for a while (over a year, maybe 2)
one doesnt work anymore cuz the little nose pad thing on one side broke off

Two things that have worked for me:

First, never take them off. The only places I take mine off are in my home, my car, and my office.

Second, get a neckband/strap for each pair of sunglasses. Then, if I have to take them off, they will be there--dangling at the end of the band.

I only buy "good" sunglasses and hate losing them.

i've had the same pair of rayban aviator style sunglasses since i had LASIK surgery done in 1999....bequeathed to me in my father's will.

i lost a $200 pair awhile ago and i've haven't bought another pair since. i still haven't gotten over it. i know i'm going to lose the next pair or break it.

none. . .i actually gained a pair. . .found a bitchin' pair of camo wrap-around safety sunglasses when i was at the park with my kids. . .they were laying beside one of the sandboxes. . .took them home. . .washed them with a little anti-bac soap and water and put them in the rotation with my metal frame and plastic frame oakleys. :)

I am at the opposite end of that spectrum. I FIND sunglasses (and other shit) all the time.

I just found a pair in the restroom of Ruth Chris's Steakhouse here while eating out with my boss.

I found a pair the other weekend when I went up on the top of the St Regis to take that picture I posted on here. Right over, pair was laying on the ledge. Don't ask me how. Cause no one was around and the wind was blowing.

I found a ladies silver watch on the beach last week as well.

I think I go thru about 2-3 pair a year ($150+/each), usually not lost - but I break them by putting them in the pocked or on my car seat.

I lost a $200 pair of Costa's off the beach throwing a cast net. Those have been the only pair I ever lost. I have two more that are $200 a pair. I get the hook up though because my cousin is a sponsered guide.

1...it was a cheapo pair i bought for an early morning party

i take pretty good care of my sunglasses and usually only get expensive ones.

if i still lived in NY/NJ though i'd probably still cop the canal street specials when i was broke

I lost my pair of Serengettis...

Are these a known brand? I just bought a pair today for my wife at Costco. lol

I have prescription sunglasses, but never use them or lose them.

None. My sunglasses are clip-ons that fit over my prescription glasses.

I've got an old pair of Serengeti Drivers that I used to use, uh, when driving, they're at least a decade old and I never lost them. Had two previous pairs of the same that I never lost either, but I broke them. I think I still have the parts in a box somewhere.

So I guess I do not tend to lose sunglasses.

im usually pretty lucky with shades, i was rowing one day and the fell out of my pocket and i freaked out hardcore then when we got back my cox was bragging about finding some expensive looking sunnies floating in the river :D

Found? Dude, I am sure someone came back asking for those. Easy come, easy go though. I have renters insurance so I can make a claim for the expensive ones if I have receipts.
