How many of you don't go by your legal name? It's a pain the arse huh?

I hate my legal name, have no middle name, go by an abreviation of my first but only of the sound, not the spelling. People never understand it unless I explain it. I plan on legally changing my name soon.

its a complicated thing to legally change your name, even your first name. it can be done- you have to file papers, put a notice in the paper, call/write ALL your credit companies, banks, investments, etc. and your birth certificate will now always have to be accompanied by your legal name change papers.
Or, you can legally just use a different first name on most things- a lot of people use their middle name instead of first and don't have it actually changed.
i actually like my original first name, although its odd. sometimes i wish i still had it.

Having the wrong date on your birth certificate.

I was named after my grandpa, but noone has ever called me that name. I'm called by an abbreviated form of my middle name. Such a pain in the ass. Every single class thru school and every other place I can't think of right now, you have to explain to people that you don't go by that name. When Signing my signature, I never sign it with my legal name. I've been asked to sign it again on occasion. Just a nuance, one of many.

Exactly the same situation here. It's a pain in the ass - for my signiture I use my first initial followed my middle name
