How many calorie deficit

What is the ideal amount of calorie deficiency a 30 year old male should be taking if he wants to lose weight? 1000 calories?
 
No. Most suggestions start with : what do you weigh? How much fat are you carrying? How much do you need to use? What's your food and calorie intake like? Age barely counts
 
counting calories only works in the short run. if you ate in a calorie deficit everyday and lost 1 pound a week after 200 weeks you would weigh 0 right?

don't confuse what competitors do with what actually works. it isn't about calories in and out.. it is about what you eat and when you eat.
 
I recommend a 500 calorie/day deficient.

A pound is roughly 3500 calories so a 500 calorie/day deficit will equal 1 pound of weight loss per week
