How is your credit?

I just checked my credit rating on <consumerinfo.com> and it said I had a 659 on a scale of 350-850, and my rating was "fair." :( Seems like it should be more along the lines of "good." Looks like I'll have to kiss ass and be a little credit-whipped bitch to get it there.

careful you dont get stuck paying for that 'credit monitoring service'

i hear a lot of people get screwed with that

Yes, I must cancel that shit, or I think it's $79 I would have to pay.

i have one negative mark of a 30 day late payment on a vehicle a year ago which wasn't even my fault but the dealer so I have a 626

799
Would have been higher as I have no lates etc.
But, I also do not carry a lot of credit debt (1 vehicle loan at a time only), rarely carry a card ballance and have no mortgage.

I'm somewhere over 750 I think. I was around 725 before I paid off my credit cards and my car, so I'm guessing I've shot up a little.

You lazy Americans need good credit ratings just so you all can continue to purchase items to live in a lifestyle you cannot afford. God forbid Americans learn how to do without and control their spending. It is disgusting that you people have your financial lives dictated by credit scores. Why don't you people stop buying crap you don't need/can't afford, and instead look to build up your financial net worth by WORKING to obtain tangible assests, like real estate or good ol' cash?

I have no debt what-so-ever. So you can kiss my ass.

I agree with you for the most part though. Most my friends all think they can live in debt forever and keep adding to the total owed. They don't understand the concept of how much money they save if they'd only save for something first, then buy it completely.

btw, is there a placen the web you can get your rating without having to sign-up/pay?

equifax.com is only $9.95 and $12.95 for the one with the credit score, but at least there's no contract bullshit.

We didn't make the rules. As far as I'm concerned, the person/s who started the concept of "money" in the first place was the dumbest/laziest/greediest mofo in the history of civilization. Peoples' wealth should have never been based on a number, especially when most of us have to work a lot harder to make less of it than the few who do have it. Granted a lot of people do work hard to become rich, but I doubt they're really happy. They keep working to make more and more money, and their lives are controlled by it.
In a perfect world, your wealth would be based on a status you achieved through working and the amount of energy you expended during your work would be monitored. By this rationale, fitness would also definitely be a measure of wealth and status. Everyone would have an id similar to a social security card measuring this "wealth" and no one could get lucky or take shortcuts.
Only this way would everyone know who's the shit and who isn't. :)

Im 19 and my credit is in the 700's.

However, I have a short credit history, meaning I still cant get approved for shit, even though I have good credit.

Mines crap. Lots of medical bills that I cant afford and couple credit cards also. No repos or foreclosures or anything like that though.
I couldnt even get approved to make monthly payments on a new computer.
