How important is sex? Could you live without?

I can live without it, but its not pleasant
 
I'm living without right now, and it's hell on Earth. So I CAN live without it, just not happily.





But at the same time if I married someone and really loved them, but something then happened where she could never physically have sex again, I wouldn't leave her over that. I could live with love without sex; I'm not saying I'd prefer it, but if forced into it I could cope. However, if she simply decided she never wanted sex again, then I'd leave for sure.

So yeah, sex is real important to me.

its VERY important but i've gone without it for long stretches of time. it sucks, but thats what batteries are for.

Actually in some ways I agree with strange. While sex is extremely enjoyable, I think that society and peer pressure make it a bigger deal than it really is.

I think of sex as something two people who care deeply about each other can share together. For me, just the act of having sex itself isn't enough, I only really enjoy it if it's with someone I care about. Most people today view sex as something "cool" people do on a regular basis with anyone they can, and if you aren't having sex (doesn't matter if you even like the partner or not) then you are a loser or just wasting your life away. It's a shallow viewpoint IMHO, there is so much more to life than just sex. If someone I don't even like offers to have sex with me I turn them down (I've turned down more partners than I've had in my life) because I have better things to do with my time than spend them fucking someone I have no future or interest in.

Of course I'm old fashioned for today's world too, maybe I'm just behind the times. :D

if you could live without it , your abnormal, its what we are here to for, to survive and reproduce...you would have to have a hormone defiency to not want to hit skins. (talking bout men here)

Not wanting to have sex and living without sex are two completely different things. One can go without sex but still desire it.

I don't mean sex with just anyone. But with someone I deeply care about. But when not with someone, the desire never goes away!

I can also say for myself that if I couldn't be with someone if the sex was not enough or bad no matter how much I cared. I am always honest about this fact. Sex is only part of the equation for me, but it is still a part in which I will not settle.

Let me ask you this, what do you do for fun when you aren't in a serious relationship? Do you go bar hopping and clubbing every night looking for loose women, or do you spend your time on other activities? Or do you just relax and enjoy life on your own, without having to schedule your time around anyone else's life?

My guess is that most men who go long periods without sex have other interests that occupy their time. Masturbation and long showers can go a long way my friend...

Sex is a physiological need. You could live without it, but would probably feel pretty shitty doing so, since sex drives are embedded in our biological programming/hormones. This could have something to do with why priests and such who are deprived of sex end up developing some sick fetish like molesting little boys.
No one should be deprived of sex.

Look bud, a couple of things.

I am in a serious relationship but i manage to have casual sex very often on the side. Let me try to explain. Ladies see my girlfriend and she is the hottest, sweetest girl ever. For some reason they are interested in me because i am in a relationship. I don't ever go to clubs, i hardly ever go to bars only with my buddies, but these chicks somehow find my number or email from some other chick i slept with last month. Sometimes its too much to bang the girl i should be banging. ;).

And chicks in the gym, IMO nomatter how you look they just love you for being in the gym. I have to ignore them sometimes. If you were confident you could totally flirt and get a date. I am trying not to sound like a hotshot, but from what i see, some guys are just punishing themselves.

Also, if you were really hungry and needed food to survive and thrive, would you not eat what is available to you in variation and different flavours? (food!) All you got to do is reach and eat. It tastes good and everyone likes it. I totally understand what you mean but it would be valid a good hundred years ago when pre-marital sex was considered a "sin". All I am saying is bros here on this board are too good not to have sex for months. Some of them are virgins and 23(lol). Its ridiculous.

And i am in college so don't blame. :evil:

I get really bitchy and moody when I haven't had sex in a while. I'm one female that can't live with out sex. If that makes me a bad person than oh well. I don't care what other people think of me.

This just proves my point. See, I would never even consider cheating on someone I am in a relationship with, if it ever got to that point I'd break it off first. I had several girls approach me while I was married and I had no problem turning them all down, a few were even more attractive than my wife. And going without sex for long periods isn't always about a lack of confidence, it's about a lack of a worthwhile partner to have sex with, it's as simple as that. But I can tell from your post (and your attitude towards women) that my reasoning is a concept you just won't understand. We're just different, that's all. I'm not saying one of us is correct or wrong, it's simply a difference of attitude about sex and women.

You will know what i mean when you are 58 and can't get an erection. You will envy all the women and everything you missed. Nomatter how rich and powerful you are, it will never be the same. I would like to elaborate but all i can say is "nice boy attitude" is least appreciated in today's circumstance. You have to be ruthless but try to do good deeds along the way.

I don't think I would live to be very old without it. More then two weeks I probably would be humping the furniture and my dog would be looking at me saying stop it. Then again..... I would rather have awesome sex more infrequently, then just o.k. every day. I'm glad none of you know me... LMAO
