How accurate would you say those body fat scales are?

The scales you stand on and nothing else...are no more accurate than guessing.

Others my opine about bf % but I believe its got a ton to do with how you carry it and how much you weigh. To me 280 pounds at 11% is a lot more impressive than 170 pounds at 7%

the one I got at wallmart says I'm 30percent fat but I dubt my abs would show if it was right

I had one those last summer(Tanita Ironman) and it said I was 175lbs @ 22~24% bf.... yeah right... looking in the mirror is more acurate than these things when my ab and rib striations are clearly visible...LMAO @ that scale so I took it back!!! Total waste of $$$

They have a +/- 8% flucuation. Read the manual and then you'll see it's a waste. Have someone caliper you @ your gym; prob. a lot more accurate.

The manual also stated that how much water you drank will impact the reading, so if you're dehydrated it will say you have more bf%

Incorrect.........

My Tanita scale is waaaaay off.....when I weighed 116lbs for my show & had a 6 pack (I was about 8-10% bf) - my Tanita still showed me at +20% bf.....I just use it to weigh myself now....

Just no way it's off that much...I promise you mine is pretty close...I was 8% and change using the ultrasound/hydro method, 9.8% with calipers and right around 12% on the scale.....within 3 days........
