High Fiber Foods for your diet!

Good high fibre foods:

* Wholemeal, granary and softgrain varieties of bread - you can even buy the 'white looking' bread that has all the wholemeal goodness.

* Jacket potatoes, new potatoes in their skins and baked potato skins. Baked skins can contain tasty fillings. You can make potato wedges baked with olive oil & a little salt & let your son dip them in his favourite things.

* Wholegrain breakfast cereals, eg. Weetabix, Shreddies, porridge oats or Ready Brek etc.

* Wholemeal pasta and brown rice serves with your fave sauces - avoid too much rice.

* Beans, lentils and peas. Baked beans on wholemeal toast is a good lunch. See lentil recipes that follow....

* Fresh and dried fruits – particularly if the skins are eaten - smoothies can hide all sorts!

* Vegetables – particularly if the skins are eaten. Roasted veggies are appealing even to kids as are things like courgette fries etc.

* Nuts and seeds - You may want to stay off the nuts for a while!

* Wholemeal flour - use for baking in place of regular.
