my team is the Calfanz Crew.
The first week of NFL action saw some high scoring standouts, some emerging players that went un drafted, and some serious early draft round busts.
Calfanz Crew (139) gives With My Scrotum (46) a kick in the ball bag.
This match up showcased the best draft of the league against highly questionable roster. One team far exceeded expectations, while the other barely showed up to play. The Calfanz Crew was lead by Jimmy Smith with 25 points and Marc Bulger chipping in 24, the 3 rd most of all QBs in the league. Scrotum boy was lead by his defense (never a good sign), Buffalo scored 19, while no other players scored in double digits, and two of them, first round pick Daunte Culpepper and injured Mike Anderson, even finished the weekend with 0 points. Scrotum lover looks to shake it off and regroup for next week, with some starting roster changes likely, considering he left 26 points from standout Willie Parker on the bench. To add insult to injury, Scrotum lost their top receiver, Javon Walker, for the season with a torn ACL.
MysticWarriors (72) puts the z team to bed early (43)
This game featured the worst total team score for the week with 43 from the z team, who is quickly getting comfortable in last place. None of their starters scored in double digits, and the teams highest scorer was left on the bench. (Hasselbeck with 14). Their average score per player was less then 5 points. Mystic Warriors easily took the win. Leading the charge was Corey Dillon who had an excellent outing on Thursday night. Deuce McAllister kicked in 18 points as well. Next week Mystic Warriors will be looking for some production from their WRs, who combined for 17 points this week, and a possible switch at QB to replace the Javon Walkerless Brett Favre. Z team will be looking to change his address when it comes time to collect league fees.
The unbearables (84) pimp slaps The Skanks (63)
This low scoring contest ended up being the closest match up of the week with the unbearables winning by a still impressive margin of 19 points. Unbearables were lead by Keyshawn Johnson, who had 18 points due to his 2 touchdown game against the Chargers here in San Diego. Darrell Jackson and the Atlanta defense both chipped in 12 points and Edgerrin James had 10 to further ensure the win. The Skanks had 12 points from Michael Vick and another 12 from veteran Isaac Bruce. No other players were in the double digits. Vick is flashy, but is generally considered a fantasy football bust. The Skanks will have to choose between Vick and Brees starting every week, while the unbearables will have to wonder why on earth they drafted Ronald Curry. (hint: Frisman Jackson and Marty Booker are still available).
Ray's raiders (73) get beat with the **UGLYSTICK** (97)
Peyton Manning lead the team 22 points. Westbrook was very active Monday night and added 16 points. Pittsburgh's defense had 15, Marvin Harrison and Torry Holt both had 12, and Kansas City kicker Lawrence Tynes kicked for 10 points and that was more then enough to top ray's raider's 73. Ray had a strong showing from fellow Raider Randy Moss, who had 19 points in his debut with the silver and black. Tiki Barker had an impressive 18 and Clinton Portis had 12. Unfortunately for Ray, Hines ward had only 2 points and his TE and D combined for another measly 2, while his New York Football Giants Defense and WR Deion Branch both scored double digits…. on the bench.
Oaktown Bandits (103) rob the **SUNDAYSOLDIERS** (72) a of win
The Bandits had 6 of 9 starters score in double digits to crush the Soldiers. The Bandits were lead by Kerry Colins, who ironically plays in Oaktown, and also was tied for the most fantasy points scored by any player this week. (he tied with Willie Parker, you know that RB that Scrotum boy had on his bench this week?) The Soldiers high scorer was their defense (told you that's not a good sign) Tampa Bay who kicked in 16. Plaxico Burress had 13, Willie McGahee had 12, and Donovan McNabb had a disappointing 10. Sadly the Soldies left Kennan McCardell's 24 points on the bench as well as Byron Lefwitch's 22. Those points instead of the 10 from McNabb and 1 from Roy Williams would have been enough to give the Soldiers a win, and a little confidence heading into their week 2 match up with the top ranked Calfanz Crew.
