help me lose this fat!

Ok, here is my deal. I am 5'5/121 lbs female, 35 years old, with 19% bf. I am trying to get my body fat down. I am currently on a clean low carb diet. I use livestrong to track my intake and my ratios normally are 60% fat/35% protein/5% carb. average day 1200-1400 calories. I eat very clean. NO CHEATS in the past 3 months. So that is not an issue. As far as workout goes...here is where I may need some tweaking. I do cardio (elliptical mostly but some treadmill) 3 days a week and 2 days of turbo fire/hit training.
My goal is not to compete however, I do want the "fitness model" look. I am not losing weight for some reason. I mean I will lose 2 lbs and the next day be up two pounds (assuming water since I eat clean). For some reason my body is comfortable at this weight so I am hoping to jump start the movement, again. I purchased clen and t3, but have not used it yet. What are your thoughts? Do you think Clen could be what I need? or should I just tweak something else? Any advice?

60% fat??? I'm not an expert on here and I'm sure you'll get lots of help, but that seems like way too much fat intake. Did you mean 60% protein???

Hmmm. No, I kind of do the Atkins thing - most fats come from meat, healthy oils or avocado. Should I be upping the protein and lowering fat? Atkins is a ketones diet and kind of banks on the fact that fat is what give you the full feeling.

Thanks for your replies. Let me know your thoughts on that.

Sometimes posting up a day's meals is helpful for us.

A couple questions for you...

How long have you been stuck weight wise?? Weight generally fluctuates day to day so I'm wondering how long you've been plateaued?

Do you ever do a carb load? or a higher carb day?

Hi,
well your diet looks fine, assuming your 60% fat isn't all butter and lard - lol
you obviously prefer to go low carb and that's fine.
so I would ramp up the exercise- it is easy to plateau on the elliptical- it's not a very taxing workout at the best of times. rather than three meh elliptical workouts/week, start going for runs outside, start at 30 or 45 minutes and work your way up from there. You should be absolutely dying and sweating buckets. Stretch afterwards.
Oh, and I suggest a cheat day every now and then. Three months is a long time.

If you already know all your hormones are in good shape (estradial, cortisol, adrenaline, etc), then my guess would be your diet is too static. The body has evolved to respond effectively to longterm caloric deficits, otherwise mankind probably would've disappeared 50k years ago. You're in a longterm caloric deficit, so your body has probably reduced it's caloric demand in response. T3 output will drop over time in conditions like that.

No, DO NOT take T3. Clen might work for you, but it can have rather harsh CNS effects, so you might find it unpleasant.

1)Try carb rotation. That will vary your total daily caloric intake significantly. Start by upping your calories 400-500 a day for maybe 5 days, then start varying them up and down. You can find carb rotation diet details in many places on the net.

2)Try intermittent fasting (IF). Basically it involves eating absolutely nothing at all for the first 6 hours each day. Run a search on it in this forum. I wrote a fairly detailed post on it about a year ago. It does work.

Yeah 60% fat it's kind of too much... If you don't see results anymore, it's time to change your nutrition plan. I do carbs rotation every time I am getting ready for competition. It's working!

Sorry to butt in, but have you had any blood work done recently? I ask because maybe there is a little hypo thryroidism going on? I say that because its really common in women in your age group. I train my wife and we are on the tail end of finally getting thyroid meds dialed in to where they need to be. In the beginning she was dieting strict, doing very high intensity cardio 4-5 days wk even using forged burner and not dropping an ounce. Being within "normal" range on bloodwork doesnt mean normal either. Just something to think about.

But its possibly your cardio isnt intense enough. If you want to drop the weight I would suggest interval sprints or something high intensity cardio wise. If not interval then maybe doing something a bit more high impact like treadmill at 3-4mph walking at a 5-8 degree incline. Something to get your heart rate up in your target range for 30-45 min.
Some people respond differently to fats too. Even the good fats. It might be too much for you.

I also second what the ladies have already said. I wouldnt use clen. Its not good for your heart. Also I wouldnt use T3. Your thyroid is nothing to mess around with. But thats just my opinion.

I agree with RottenWillow. A sudden ramp-up of calories, especially carbs, may benefit you. I'm currently doing the Body Opus diet with 70% fat and 30% protein with trace carbs. On the weekends, I carb up. The fat loss has been nice so far. Do some research on cyclic ketogenic diets. It may be just what you need.
