OK my parents want to buy me another computer, and said i got 10K bux to spend on it.. What are the most badass things i can get for it (im building it myself).

Monitor.

Go with an 18"-22" Flat panel.
Dont buy it premade.

Buy the raw LCD,inverter, and controller..and you will save 1,000's.

Hey if you are building your computer yourself, why not build your monitor yourself too:)

10K has to be a typo

I can put together an amazing system for 2K and even that is a bit much - more like 1700

if you spend 10K, then you are getting server class shit and it is overkill - at that point you will see no better dvd watching or gameplay - you are just dealing with connections better...

you're only spending about $1200-$2000 from what i see. i don't see how you can spend 10k on a computer, unless it is dipped in gold beforehand.


tell you what, i'll do you a favor & sell you my computer for $1500. can you spell compaq presario 5070? how about amd k6-3? top o the line shit my boy.

desk: badas office depot desk :)

cpu= amd 1.8 gig
mobo= asus baddass 3ddr mobo
sound= sound blasta platinum audigy
grafix = geforce3 gladiac
cd = dvd 16X40
speakers = 5.1 pro
mem = 512 DDR
hd = 80 gig 7,200

networked to my 2 other comps through external modem and a switch; one of em is a:

p3 800
geforce 2 prophet II ultra
40 gig
cdrw

dude, they don't even make a 1.8 Ghz amd. i don't think they do. they have an athlon XP 1800 which is 1.53Ghz.

in the 2 weeks after that event, i discovered a diamond mine in my backyard, met a supermodel, my dad recovered from cancer, etc.
and i want to pass the 'good stuff' on to you. and it will only cost $10k.

10k for a home computer ? wake up the best home computer with Dell would cost about 4000$..... now for 10k I would go with a Mac...
