If steroids and supplements add water to the muscles im sure it does the same to the heart which would result in enlarged heart right?? What happens to the muscle when it deflates of water, what happens to the the heart when it deflates of water retainage? Does this spell permanent disaster?

Almost all professional atheltes have enlarged hearts due to the fact that the heart is a muscle and when put under strenuous exercise it enlarges however I am not familiar with the water retention issue. Maybe someone with knowledge of this will chime in for you. k

No. Although the heart is technically a muscle, it doesn't act or opperate the same as skeletal muscle tissue. It won't carry excess water in this way

So will an enlarged heart from intense athletic excersise have a negative impact in the long run?

The heart can be enlarged to a certain point (athletes heart) without it being a death sentence. Most of those who die young from an athletes heart have pre existing heart conditions and with the addition of an athletes heart brought about their imminent demise quicker than it would have without it

as you gain water weight it is obviously gonna strain your lipids. steroids that aromatize should be run with AI's for this reason. also remember that higher RBC's and thicker blood is heart strain.. not sure if this is what you are getting at but hope that makes sense. guys who are too much body fat and out of shape should not be using steroids at all. need to go into cycle with a strong heart and cycle off and let your body rest

You don't really have the mechanism correct, but there are known risks to the heart and cardiovascular system from taking steroids.

Its good that you would realize this, and understand that you can try to manage and minimize risk if you choose to take steroids, rather than pretend that they are perfectly safe, as some would lead you to believe.

Reading the last two posts, I realize I didn't touch on steroid's effects on lipids/cardiovascular system.. Was merely responding to your questions regarding water retention/athletic heart enlargement posts OP.
