HOW TO AVOID FOODS MADE WITH GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMS (GMOs)

Genetic Engineering (GE) or Genetic Modification (GM) of food involves the laboratory process of artificially inserting genes into the DNA of food crops or animals. The result is called a genetically Modified organism or GMO. GMOs can be engineered with genes from bacteria, viruses, insects, animals, or even humans. Most Americans say they would not eat GMOs if labeled. but unlike most other industrialized countries, the U.S. does not required labeling.

This non-GMO shopping guide is designed to help reclaim your right to know about the foods you are buying, and help you find and avoid GMO foods and ingredients.

TIPS FOR AVOIDING GM CROPS

Tip # 1: BUY ORGANIC

Certified organic products are not allowed to contain any GMOs. Therefore, when you purchase products labeled "100% organic," "organic," or "made with organic ingredients," all ingredients in these products are not allowed to be produced from GMOs.

Tip # 2 LOOK FOR "NON-GMO" LABELS

Companies may voluntarily label products as "non-GMO."
Some labels state "non-GMO" while others spell out "Made without Genetic Modified Ingredients." Some products limit their claim to only one particular "AT-RISK" ingredient such as soy lecithin, listing it as non-GMO.

TIP # 3 AVOID AT RISK INGREDIENTS

Avoid any of these ingredients are products made from the "Big Four:"

CORN
Corn flour, meal, oil, starch, gluten, and syrup
Sweeteners such as fructose, dextrose, and glucose
Modified food starch

SOY
Soy flour, lecithin, protein, isolate, isoflavone
Vegetable oil and vegetable protein

CANOLA
Canola oil (also called rapeseed oil)

COTTON

Cotton seed oil

In addition, GM sugar beet sugar recently entered the food supply. Look for organic and non-GMO sweeteners, candy and chocolate products made with 100% cane sugar, evaporated cane juice or organic sugar.

TIP # 4: BUY PRODUCTS LISTED IN THIS SHOPPING GUIDE

Keep this guide with you whenever you shop.

FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

Very few fresh fruits and vegetables in the US are genetically modified.
Novel products such as seedless watermelons are NOT genetically modified.
Small amounts of zucchini, yellow crookneck squash, and sweet corn may be GM. The only commercialized GM fruit is papaya from Hawaii- about half of Hawaii's papayas are GM.

MEAT, FISH, EGGS

No genetically modified fish, fowl,or livestock is yet approved for human consumption.
Look for wild rather then farmed fish to avoid fish raised on GM feed, and 100% grass-fed animals.

DAIRY PRODUCTS & ALTERNATIVE DAIRY PRODUCTS

Some U.S. dairy farms inject the genetically engineered hormone rbGH, also called rbST, into their cows to boost milk production. Organic dairy products are rbGH-free and do use GN grains as feed. Products with a label that indicates cows free of rbGH or rbST may come from cows fed GM feed. Many alternative dairy products are made from soybeans AND may contain GM materials.

BABY FOODS & INFANT FORMULA

Milk or soy protein is the basis of most infant formulas. The secret ingredients in these products are often soy or milk from cows injected with rbGH. Many brands also add GMO-derived corn syrup, corn syrup solids, or soy lecithin.

If any one is interested in finding out which brands contain GMO or MAY contain GMO ingredients in baby and infants formula, I'll be more then happy to post it. However, for now, I'll move on..

GRAIN, BEANS & PASTA

Other then corn, no GM grains are sold on the market. Look for 100% wheat pasta, couscous, rice, quinoa, oats, barley, sorghum and dried beans (except soybeans).

So do I it is sticky worthy!

Great! If it's going to be a sticky, I will then add to the same page, rather then bumping in a different page.

I decided to give this article a whirl. Wow....
I don't have the words.
You were right again... I underestimated the corruption that is going on to the U S public.
Apparently the whole thing started with Bush who created an initiative to feed Africa with GMO, and thus promote Industrial control of the food supply.
Well, it back fired. Africa is unfortunately starving, but will not take our GMO laced food. GMO food is now found in 70% of all our food from, according to Dr. Jeff Smith, the author of Seeds of Deception.
It is the biggest US government, Industry Cover Up, since the Tobacco doesn't cause cancer movement. All about dough and control.
So, that said, I'm reading more, and am fascinated how the Gov and Biotech industries are killing and making slaves of us.
Here are the countries banning GMO.

In a previous article, Protect Your Family From Bad Drugs, we discussed that when a drug is banned in other countries, this is a tip off that we might be dealing with a bad drug. The same could be said for GMO food which has already been banned in many countries. The following countries have banned or restricted the import, distribution, sale, field trials and planting of GMO’s: Algeria, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Japan, Phillipines, The European Union, Norway, Austria, Germany United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, France, Luxembourg, Portugal, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, American Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Federated States of Micronesia, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, New Zealand.

North America: Genetically Modified foods are in widespread use throughout the U.S. Maryland has banned GE (genetically engineered) fish and North Dakota and Montana have filed bans on GE wheat. The Municipalities of Burlington, Vermont (declared a moratorium on GE food), Boulder, Colorado (bans on GE crops) and the City and County of San Francisco (urged the federal government to ban GE food) are the only towns or states to take some sort of stand against plants, animals, foods, crops and body products that are, or contain Genetically Modified Organisms. October 2006, Mexico rejects GMO corn.(link)

It really fucks you up.
I mean GMO laced DNA basically alters gene expression in your bacterial celss, rendering you open to new neurological disorders, as well as antibiotic resistant new strains of bacteria.
It's the same imperative behind mad cow disease.

Anyway, it alters gene expression and can react in unseen ways that severely affect your mood and well being. In rats, it severly slowed metabolism, made them obese, much lower energy levels, and they developed immune disorders.

Aspartame is the one GMO, I"m most aware of. Studies show that it makes you crave sugar, when none is actually forthcoming... thus you want sweets more. You become hooked on Junk. Every can of diet soda increases the chance of being over weight by 41%.

I dug this Thands.

Processing People is what is happening.
Good Stuff.

This is a short excerpt, from the movie All Jacked Up, a documentary on the How the Government, Biotech Industries, through the Bush Administration wanted to process the quality of your life, through commodification of food.

This part explains in simple terms to teens, how they are being fed addiction to shit... through selling them addictive shit, like GMOs High fructose corn syrup, trans fat, aspartame, shit like that...

Well whole foods are not being sold to the masses, and teens hard up on money, and the largest demograph gets marketed the most, so their identity is wrapped up not only in what they consume to wear, but in the food they eat. Hence Monster Drink type marketing is employed.

I dunno, mass marketing to get rich through enslaving the masses... same old story, I guess.
