HCG Diet

I have a friend who lost a ton of weight on this HCG diet. I use HCG as part of my cycle and PCT but i was unaware of the remarkable fat loss properties in conjunction with this diet. Its a long read but as skeptical as it sounds i'm thinking of trying it. Have any of you tried this yet?

I read about those; but the
"A summary of the 500 calorie diet in this manuscript is available here"
Is about as far as I go; I can starve myself and lose weight without needing a doc and hcg :) I'd think most of the weight loss is related to the 500 calorie diet, not the hcg; Also, if hcg had remarkable fat burning properties; shouldn't it work on a more normal to low calorie diet? not a very low calorie/starvation/fast diet... all of the plans I've seen are the 400-500 calorie range which makes me think it's more about the calories than the hcg...

The "science" is that during pregnancy, there are high levels of hCG or whatever in the female, making the fat deposits highly available for energy expense to protect the develpment of the baby or something.

So, using hCG will make the fat on you highly ready to be burned as energy as opposed to glycogen storage in the liver or the muscle tissue.

Dropping to 500 calories is about the stupidest thing I have ever heard of though. That's pathetically retarded. However, going on a ketogenic diet at 500 calories below maintenance would be great given the science works the way it says it does.

I agree with you.

You can also chainsaw a limb to drop weight...that is ALMOST as dumb as the hcg diet. They are so irresponsible doing this and should lose their license to practice medicine.

Oh, but using testosterone to get bigger muscles is just so societally immoral, now isn't it?

My dad was talking to me about doing the hCG diet, and I told him he was better off taking testosterone and gaining 20 pounds of muscle to increase his metabolic rate. He said taking steroids is wrong. Then I said, well hCG is what Manny Rmirez got busted for a few months ago. Then he changed his mind and said hCG was bad. Even then, he's not even right. hCg can be great...after you take steroids, lol.

LOL your Dad sounds like a swell guy!

This last cycle my Father saw me with my shirt off...walking around his house.

He's a very intelligent guy, and my recent 20lb gain made it obvious to him I was on steroids. So he straight up asked me what I was on, and we had a full conversation about it.

Funny thing is, I thought he was going to be much more judgmental about it...but he wasn't..I think he accepts the fact that I'm healthy and know full well what I am doing.

Also, he dislikes our current dictatorship as much as I do....so that helps..

But addressing this thread: that 500 cal diet is absurd for ANY person with a higher than natural LBM.

You may as well flush thousands of dollars down the drain. (aas cycles wasted)

I like your idea of keto with 500 defecit. That's perfect for guys like us.

Lol, no my dad is actually very intelligent and kind, and a really good man, but not everyone understands every thing in the proper light. He's really knowledgable about proper nutrition and training, but when it comes to steroid use he doesn't know much of anything because he has never cared to even look into because he is fully decided against it. Every time he asks me about it, I don't want to talk about it because he does not like me using at all. I nearly have him convinced HRT is completely acceptable for a 50 year old guy with declining muscle strength and endurance for purely simple health and fundamental strength reasons.

I had asked about this awhile back because I too have a buddy that now swears by it, BUT, he says the HCG is to kill the appetite. I don't know, I haven't done any research on it, but if it works for him then so be it. OH, and I don't think he goes as low as 500 cals, I think it's 1000.

I apoligise if by my comment I suggested that your Father was less than intelligent...that was certainly not my intent!

He sounds very in-the-know. You should ask him to sit down and watch "bigger, stronger faster"

I believe its called....

The documentary on steroids. Very good for those who are skeptics! Brought my gf around!

That is what is most amazing to me. They claim your appetite is completely supressed no matter how obese you are. Then after 40 injections you come off, stay on the diet for 3 days and then you can eat normal again. What worries me most about this is that I would think you would cannibalize all your hard earned muscle with the lack of protein. For people though that are 30+ lbs. overweight though may not care. Most HCG dieters report a loss of 1 to 2 lbs a day. At the very least, .5 pound a day, and at the most, 3 + lbs a day. 1 lb is generally lost in the first day.
