Go to a decent (read: not cheap) stylist, and get his/her opinion. And if you really want a perfectionist's eye, go see a high-end MALE stylist. I'm about as old-school as a guy can get these days, but the best stylists I've seen have been men.

Nearly every guy with a full head of hair can pull off the messy look. For me, keeping it short on the sides and back, and a bit longer on the top makes for the easiest hairstyle I've ever had. Some guys do better with keeping it a bit longer on the sides, but it's whatever works for you.

If you have a high hairline, or are pretty much balding, just take it as short as you can go. There's nothing worse than seeing a guy in denial over where his hairline is at.

^^^ Yup. Real short on the sides and back for me no combing whatsoever, just rub some product in the top and shape a little and GO!

my head shape sucks, its a cross between beldar conehead and frankenstein , i have to keep it short
