grinding oatmeal in coffee grinder....

CFZB

______
Platinum
ive been doing this for a while now, in the mornin adding to my whey and it works out well ...but im wondering if it hurts its nutritional value at all...also i heard on the radio the other day about whole grains ect..getting stuck in your (getting a litttle graphic now) intesines somehow causing more harm than good ,anyone hear of this or have any input?

probably isnt a good idea... raises the GI of oatmeal to nearly that of a wheat/ww flour (im assuming you grind it up pretty finely)

..yeah realy fine....that changes the GI? why?

particle size...

the smaller the particle size, the more surface area is exposed and that allows more bodily enzymes to digest the carbohydrate faster thus spiking your insulin that much more effectively! :D

yup... best way I do it... cook the oatmeal for 1/2 time, then drain it as well as possible (some soluble fiber loss if you do) then dump it in the whey and shke it up with some more liquid... its not soft but it's chewy enough not to require 10 minutes of chewing per bite :D
