One of the guys I train and I were just finishing up our workout this morning. We were on the ab machine when this ~75 year old man stops in front of us and goes "Remember boys, no pain, no gain!". I was laughing almost too hard to finish my reps. Dude is about 5'5" and 120 lbs, pure awesomeness!

Cheers,

lmao. at my gym the average person is 70 years old

Thats cus you go at 7 am. Thats when all the blue hair are at mine. I was doin walking lunges with 50 lb db's about a month ago and this olderguy probably 60 or so said "c'mon kid! keep goin" I think he just wanted to be friendly, i didnt get offended but the fuckin guy reminded me of mick from the rocky movie

You have to watch out for those 120-lb 70-something dudes. I knew one of them; a German, who was fearless, and tougher than the biggest & baddest of anybody here. In fact, true story: in the early 1970s, Charles Manson got in my friend's face. My friend worked him over and laid him out bleeding in the middle of Santa Susana Pass Road in Chatsworth, CA, where Manson was trespassing on my friend's land. My friend's name was Frank Retz, and he owned the ranch next to the Spahn place that Manson later occupied when he found out the hard way that he wasn't going to camp out on the Retz ranch. Frank still worked out and worked his ranch all the way 'til he was in his 90s, and died in a car accident during a storm. I knew about the Manson incident because Frank had a news article on his wall, but after he died, I found out that he had an even bigger thing he was too modest to tell.... He was a youth in Germany when Hitler took over, and once Frank found out what Hitler was doing, he told the Nazis F*CK YOU, and came to America to join the US Navy and fight against his own old country. His name can be googled.

Wow, really cool. I'm going to google him.
Old people have good values, and I like them. (massive generalization but that's ok)

yea they do. that was back when a mans reputation meant everything and people werent pussys. you didnt call the cops to waste their time when the kids down the street were blasting music. a guy went next door and said " can u turn that music down?" back then people respected their elders and probly would turn down the music.

The barber in my town is around 70. Still goes to the gym every night with his wife. He doesn't do much weight, but is always moving.

You should hear some of the shit he says, it's really funny when he starts talking about how he's gotta keep in shape, has to keep the eye candy going for his wife, or how he has to keep his strength up to fight off all the men trying to steal his wife... too funny

If there is anyone worth sitting down to have a beer with, it's an old school barber, they know everything!! Every joke, every rumor, everything!!

I once went in and asked for a shave and a haircut kiddingly, he looked at me, raised his hands and says, "you really want these old shaky hands to hold a straight blade next to your throat!?!" That's awesome

Sounds like a cool old man, nice that his wife and him are 1) still together, and 2) are alive and kicking
