Got some blood work done

GRIMMER

New member
I got some blood work done a few days ago. Results show that i have high LDL Bad cholesterol and low HDL good cholesterol although not by much.
What really got me upset was that although my Total Testosterone level wasn't below normal 241-847 it was 321, which in my mind for a 24 year old active male should not be within 80 points of low T levels. I think this could be a reason for some slow gains and tired feeling all the time.
Any suggestions on how to get it up at least in the upper ranges naturally or atleast anabolic free? Anyone had tests done while on stuff like Tribex , Tribulos, or any of the other supposedly test increasing OTC stuff. Thanks
ON a side note i did PR on reverse band bench today and it felt easy. OH well.

Grimmer, I have never had blood tests done, but while taking tribex it sure feels like test levels go up. Other than protein powder, this is about the only OTC thing I would buy.

There was a guy a while ago on the T-mag forum who reported his blood test while on tribex. It might be to old, but a search could turn something up.

Grimmer, don't forget that if you're supplementing with test, if you're using enough, your body isn't making it's own test. You are supplying it FOR your body. So your levels while on may very well be lower (though quite normal) than when you're off. I don't know if you are on or not...just something to consider.

"I think this could be a reason for some slow gains and tired feeling all the time."

Probably the other way around. Stress (any kind of stress, not just emotional) can cause your test levels to drop, and can cause you to be tired, lethargic, etc...

When my husband was in law school he was SO wiped out all the time that he got precription test because all he had the energy to do was sleep and study and work. The stress of going to class, going to work, having a baby on the way, etc...left his test levels at that of a 45+ year old man. It can wreak havoc.

First of all remember that the normal levels they write on your bloodwork is standardized to a population of healthy adults -- not to you. So even though it's low compraed to others, it may be a completely normal level for your body.

Second -- my opinion on those natural T boosters is that they're a waste of money. Here is my thinking -- your body's production of testosterone works on a negative feedback system. Meaning that when you have low T levels, your body produces T, and when you have high T levels, it stops producing it. Ok, so I'm not saying that these supplements don't boost your T initially -- there are several ways they could do this, whether it's T precursors, or a supplements that increases production of LH or FSH or whatever. My points is, the end result of these supplements is that your T goes above normal levels -- and your body produces less T leaving you exactly where you started, except with less $$. Your body isn't stupid -- somewhere along the T production pathway it's going to compensate for whatever you're taking.

Do I have proof? No. Will these supplements maybe help a little? Yes maybe. But if you want a significant boost in T, the only way is to inject it, whether that's a script or a cycle.

Ask him if intense training has any effect, I know your immune system takes a hit from heavy training. Or see if you can be presrcibed a light test cycle, on the other hand test also effects your ldl and hdl. Not sure how to raise it naturally, I've tried certain andro's(gnc kind) before with light success.

Grimmer, I think I told you my story the last time you where in Denver. My test level was lower than yours. My doctor wrote me a script for test. This pushed my levels back to normal. You might want to consider talking to your doctor about a script. As you know a low test level will not help you lift the big weights that I know you want to lift.

As for the HDL and LDL problem, diet fixed mine. I do not know
if this will work for you but it may be worth a try.

Good luck.

Hey, thanks for all your responses. Basically i guess i just have to talk to the doc. I now that when i initially went into him telling him that i had no energy and bla bla bla that he asked if i was on steroids( no ) . He also said that lifting heavy weights is the worst thing i can do to my body and i need to do cardio instead. whatever. I don't think that he would be to receptive to perscribing something for it but if i expliane to him what i do demands that my body have enough to recover maybe he will see it my way, but i doubt it. I got some more tests in a month to check cholesterol and we'll see where it is at then.
Thanks agian.

Geno , hope you are doing good out there. Good to see your still on line. Hows the training coming? Stay strong.
