the most famous venue in sports
sort of sad
I saw ballgames there as a youngster in the early 70s and one game after the renovation as a kid
and in 1991 when my grandfather died in northern Jersey
I had a country girl from kentucky come with me to help family clean out granddad's shit
and I took her into new york city to a yankee's game
she was such in awe
at new york
and the Yankee stadium experience

I'll share my kay with your yankee stadium experience

atleast they went out with bang ,, won 7-3 tonite

I've been a yankees fan since like 1969
I grew up in northern Jersey

my worst Yankee stadium experience was bat day a year I can't remember
bobby murcer, recently deceased roamed CF for the Yanks
back then you got a real genuine bat on bat day
and the bat's had signatures
and my bat had a yankee that had been traded
I felt fucked
I remember clear as day riding the subeway back with my 2 friends and our dads
and I had a bullshit bat:theshadow

Long time yankee fan. Went up there for opening day this year and it was a fucking rain out! Good time pregaming at the Bars across the street though.

April 14th, 1990, Senior High School field trip for my Economics class. Met Trump at 5:30 am outside the old Fila store in Trump Tower.

Nolan Ryan started for a stacked Texas team. Palmeiro, Harold Baines, Pete Incagvilia, Gary Pettis, Ruben Sierra, Franco...

Yanks started Andy Hawkins and still had Mattingly, Steve Sax, some hot dog vendor at 3rd base, Rick Cerone catching.

10-4 Texas

I took Mickey Mantles cousin to my senior prom, her dad's name was Max, there are a few Mantles around, Mickey was from Commerce it's just a few miles from here................never been to Yankee stadium so no real connection

Really sad, was a very historical "american" place
thats where you take you son when hes old enough to see a ballgame

I've been to a few subway series and it was a blast. Truly a charismatic place. I never felt the same aura in any other stadium including Wrigley or Shea.
