Just got some press info on a squat contest that will be part of the 2002 Aloha Muscle weekend, May 25-27 in Honolulu:

"The God Of Squats contest is giving $2,000 to everyone who squats over 1000 pounds and an additional $1 per pound for the person who squats the most. www.alohamuscle.com"

Question

Is that a full powerlifting squat, or some strongman smith machine partial squat?

That is going to be a good show to see. Got some deep pockets behind it. I bet the bench for reps winner will leave with $1,000.

Since they are giving cash I am sure it will have to be legitimate squats. It would be interesting to know who is judging or what rules they will be held too.
