Glycolic facial Peel - my blog

so my mom noticed that my skin hasn't been looking great. I've always been prone to acne, but lately it seems to be more apparent. Being that i'm almost 42, i would have thought this wouldn't be an issue anymore. Add to that any leftover discoloration from past acne, sun damage, and general aging, and i find myself wearing foundation every day just to even my skin.

She suggested i try a glycolic peel. I bought a pretty low strength one (30%) and the site I got it from Professional Skin Care Products Anti Aging Acne .
anyway, the site said to use a lower strength glycolic serum for a few weeks first, to get your skin ready. I think i got the 15% one. They had some obviously bullshit testimonials on the website, but of course I read them anyway. lol

ok, so yesterday i started the 2-3 week prep, and I thought I'd share my progress here.
I took pics today, although i actually think my skin looked better today than it did yesterday and I only used the serum one night. it goes on like moisturizer, but do NOT rub your eye like i did or you'll have a slightly red eye for a few hours. OH, and you must use a strong sunscreen.

anyway, i'll post this morning's pics (yeah, scary, i know. I'm trying to catch all the imperfections in the picture. although, if you noticed, i'm not really wrinkly... thanks emu oil!)

I have a product that is specifically for post-peel healing. If you would like to try it I would be more than happy to send it to you. Since I've no real way to test it personally I'd been rubbing it onto my nailbeds, you know, the ones that I soaked the acrylics off of?

If you'd like me to send it, let me know. I'd be happy to get your feedback as the skincare line I am hoping to launch soon includes products that will be found in doctor's and aestheticians offices for just such purposes (peels, etc).

It's just the post peel therapy and not the stuff for the peel itself.

really?
i was going to use the emu oil that I have, but i'm running low.
I'd love to try your stuff- if you have a sample size, or a small jar to put a sample in- that would work. I'll give you my honest assessment, and before and after pics, and of course, a testimonial. :)

This morning was day 3 of my skin prep, using the glycolic serum. My skin is definately better. No new breakouts and the old ones are heeling nicely.

Oh cool! I was considering trying these peels as well so I'm really looking forward to this blog. Any updates? And you are far from hideous, Stilleto. In fact your skin looks pretty good, moreso considering the pic is enlarged about 10 times what we'd see in real life.
