Gilly, you have answered a lot of questions for me recently on your contest cycle regimen. I was just curious when is the next show you are doing? - cbeaks

At this point I'm not quite sure.....I weighed about 196 for my last one at 5'9".......I really need to bring my legs up to be competitive at a National Qualifier....I'm going to take the summer off from any AAS and run GH throughout and some short (3 weeks) cycles of slin....if I don't do a show late fall I'll run a 16 week cycle starting in late Aug....nothing crazy, probably 700 prop, 700 EQ and some dbol in the beginning and fina at the end......by next year I want to step on stage at around 208-210....right now I'm still hard at 213 so I feel confident I can reach my goal by next year.....the addition of slin should really help me out a lot.....the big thing is my legs....If I don't feel I've made the progress with my legs over the summer I'll probably wait until next spring to do a show.....

do you have any plans after the Lone Star?.....If you qualify what do you think your first National show will be?

gilly, whats your chest routine look like?

my chest is one of my best bodyparts (behind back).....I usaully stick to incline movements.....I have 6 core exercises and I'll choose 2 each workout always switching them up and always starting with inclines.....free incline, DB incline, smith mach incline....free, BD, and smith bench.....many times I'll do 2 incline movements.....I'll do 2 warmups and 4 working sets the first exercise with my 3rd set being the heaviest....then 4 sets the next exercise....I'll finish off with about 4-5 sets of a fly movement...

Your goal of 210 is very attainable. You are experienced so I don't think I need to tell you to stick with heavy compound movements for your legs. Just be careful because I now have tendinitis in both knees but my legs are considered one of my strong points. When you decide on a show I want to hear what your planned cycle will be.
If I qualify at the Lone Star I will probably take a year off and do the Jr. Nationals next year and then Nationals the year after that so I can add more size. I will probably compete this year at about 220 at 5'10" and every year I have competed I have put on 12-16 pounds (12 this year). I need to be a superheavyweight to do well and I think I need to be at least 240 on stage. My contest plans could change depending on if my contest advisor thinks I am ready for nationals earlier. - cbeaks

Damn...you'll be a big mofo on stage!.....I started squatting again so the size should come....I have some arthritis from squatting when I was younger so I stopped and my upper body shot past my lower.....hopefully with a good year of training and some good chemistry they should fill out.....

I'd love to see contest pics from the show....be sure to post them or at the very least email them to me.....

I should have some good pictures from this show. You say you have arthritis from squatting when you were younger? How old are you and how long have you been training?

I just turned 30 and have been training for 10 years....I stopped squatting when I was around 26 because my hips were really giving me problems.....I don't go super heavy with them now so I should be OK......how old are you?

I'm 25 and have been training for 6 years. I still have plenty of years of growth ahead of me.
I was going to ask you if you could ask your national level competitor buddy that planned your cycle if you can post his precontest stack just to give us an idea of what one looks like. Does he generally go on a really long cycle(24 + weeks) that leads in to a cutting cycle? - cbeaks

I'll have to ask him his exact stack....I do know he used GH, prop, sus, fina, drol, proviron, var, winny, T3, deca, EQ, and halo

his cycle is very similar to what mine was (he basically told me to do his)...I didn't use proviron and var due to availability.....the cycle he did leading up to junior nationals was for 12 weeks I beleive (and I'm sure he'll stay on afterwards....he started with prop, Deca, EQ, slin to bulk for 4 weeks and then went into his cutting part.....he uses halo the last 4 weeks and the drol and winny the last 6-7.....like I said, I'm not exactly sure of the set up but I'll find out....he also uses GH throughout and goes to 9 IUs ed for a good period of time....

cbeaks, at 25 and your stats you could make a mark in the bb community....you've got the best years ahead of you.....
