Getting off sugar????

I am trying this no carb diet. I can go maybe 1 day without sugar, then, I can't take it, I have to eat sugar. When I eat it, I have energy, no headaches, etc, etc. I sware I imagine herion withdraw would be the same. Any helpful tips on how to come off sugar.

YOur sugar cravings will decrease--honest. It's hard at first, and there's so much hidden sugar in food, too (watch out for corn syrup solids.)

Every time I got a craving, I had some protein. I think some people have had luck with glutamine, although I've never tried it.

You'll feel better without the sugar, though.

It might be helpful for you to 'wean' yourself off sugar. In other words just gradually reduce you carb intake each day instead of going cold turkey. Hardcore carb addicts cannot just stop carbs anymore than heroin addicts can just stop heroin. But as soon as you realize it is an addiction you're on your way to tackling the problem. Try eating 5 meals per day. Eat normally for the first week, then the next week eliminate all carbs from your last meal of the day. The week after that, eliminate all carbs from the last 2 meals of the day, and so on until you're off the carbs. I assume that this diet will still have a carb-loading phase so that you can tell yourself "only 4 more, 3 more, 2 more, 1 more days until I can have some carbs?"

I've been off sugar for 12 days now. Specifically: white/brown sugar, corn syrup, etc. It does get easier: at this point though I can tell my body would "love" something sweet, I am pretty uninterested in the idea of actually having it.

The only way I've been able to do this is that I didn't restict any other foods. I just have whatever the heck I want, so long as it ain't got sugar in it. Fortunately, the lack of sugar has made my appetite smaller, I've not gained any weight and some skin conditions I've had have been improving.

Oh yeah, one other thing: I also cut out alchohol 100% since it seems to ahve about the same effect as sugar.

Hope this info helps.

use natural sugars from fruit bro.. much better for you. Raw organic sugar too. Come down slow but work at it as much as you can.

Lisen to needto. Also i can go with no carbs easily now but for the energy part i drink a sugarfree redbull.
