These companies are in the business of providing medical blood tests directly to the consumer. They all have websites that provide more information. You don't need to go though a doctors' office. Use them if you want to get a liver profile etc.

If you are just interested in hormone levels, you might consider saliva testing. Some people like it better as it measures free, not bound, hormone levels. I've used ZRT laboratories www.salivatest.com

For example, in my area Health Check www.healthcheckusa.com offers this panel for $35. You do not have to tell anyone why you want the test, it's perfectly reasonable to want to check your cholesterol. They also offer thyroid panels.

Realgains points out that if you're thinking of using AAS or supplemental testosterone it's a good idea to get a baseline (know where you are before you start) of liver function & HDL/LDL and recheck periodically. If you read the Physician's Desk Reference entry for oxandrolone (Anavar) there is a lot of scary language about serious liver problems being seen even at low dosages like 2.5 mg to 5 mg per day. I'm sure it's quite rare, but I'd hate to be in that .01% and not find out in time.
