Getting back into it...

Hi Ladies,
I've missed you all. I was lazy through out my pregnancy and stopped working out and coming here for my motivation. I am now 6 weeks postpartum and ready to get back in to the grove of things.

So far I have lost 30lbs and I have about 10 lbs more to go to get into my prepregnancy clothes. I started teaching Spin, Yoga and Pilates last week and amped up my weight training. Because I am breastfeeding it is hard to get away from my little one for longer than 1.5 hours and my cardio is suffering. Since I live in the South the weather has been holding out so I walk for cardio sessions other than teaching spin once a week.

My diet is lacking big time since I was not on a diet during my pregnancy. Hypoglycemia kicked up several notches while pregnant and I was eating a lot of sweets. Now my body is addicted to them and I am slowly weening off eating one yogurt and drinking one coke a day until I no longer have the jitters. I received a shipment of all organic foods from my local farm and have 6 months of food stored up. Now I cannot use "there is no food in the house so we have to eat out" excuse. Now I have to find some kick ass recipes to get me going. I love to cook so if you all want to share your favorite recipes, please do.

TTL,
Tracy

Yep the simple carbs certainly do keep your blood glucose and insulin levels on a continuous rollercoaster. The body gets dependent on those high GI carbs pretty quickly. Just eliminate all carbs above a 70 GI and you should feel much better pretty quickly. Sounds like you're most of the way back to pre-baby weight already. Good job! Cleaning up the diet maybe all you need to get the rest of the way there.

SuperQT started a good thread on recipes pretty recently. Check that out.
