I got the same story as some as these guys getting back into dieting and lifting.... I worked out for 5 years, ate decent, and was really active. Well for some reason (I blame the gf haha not really) I just fell off and picked up some really bad habits over the course of 4 years.
Mostly drinking and started smoking (cigs, little bud here and there but havent done that in a while) about 3 years back. Well the past few weeks I've completely quit smoking which is hard but I think if I can last a month Im in the clear. Also quit drinking so much which helps with not smoking.
Anyways I'm really tryin to get back to a decent weight, I'm 6'2" and around 260-270. The past two weeks I've been jogging (trying to everyday) a mile and doing a 60lb curl bar circuit workout that I use to do in high school (wish i had an olympic bar and more weight but i dont). Im going to get back into the gym however I move to another city in a week so Ive been waiting.
Anyways guys I really need help with my diet plan. Ive been lurking and trying to find the right things to eat. So last weekend i went to the grocery store and got
Leaf lettuce
baby spinache leafs
Balsmic vinegar salad dressing for salads
chicken breast
lunch meat all natural turkey and roast beef
cottage cheese
flax oil seed
tuna in the packets
sirloin
rolled oats
shit ton of eggs
asparagus
red potatoes
green beens
peanuts
and some salt free greek seasoning that i pretty much put on everything bc i hate plain food.
I love pig but i notice a lot of people do not eat it so whats the deal with that?
ive been eating this stuff for a week straight, with the exception of thanksgiving lunch (i refused to receive leftovers however ) and already I feel a ton better. However I just wanted to ask you guys if this is an ettiquite list of food to eat. Trying to stay away from the sodium however its pretty hard. Also I notice a lot of people do not eat cheese, is this because it has saturated fat in it? I love cheese on my salads, its really hard for me to not put it on there. Also is the vinegar decent to put on my salads? Ive been trying to eat the recommmended 6 meals a day and its a challenge but I think so far its going, sorry for the long post but I would like some feedback, thanks!
