Gay marriage is the bad-tasting medicine that america needs to just shut up and take. Anti-gay-marriage people are like the little child that refuses to do something good for it. If somebody forced the issue the kid would get over it quickly, but because that's not the case the kid will continue to complain about it and resist. "No mommy, I don't want the medicine, it's icky!"

THis is why if I were president I would try to ram through a national gay marriage act giving them equal rights to hetero couples. Yeah sure the conservatives would have their panties in a bunch for a few weeks, but they would quickly get over it when they realized that 1) the issue doesn't affect them at all and 2) their bitching accomplishes nothing once the law has been passed.

It's time to act like we're the 21st century freedom-loving nation that we like to think we are.

I guess they figure if gays are allowed to marry they are going to have some guy propose to them. If it ain't happened yet, chances are it won't.

Maybe a group of say 10 people both men and women all want to be married
and get the same legal protections etc.

And all these People having kids together and contracts together etc..


This is what I am concerned with, changing the DEFINITION of "MARRIAGE" so as to
leave it wide open to mean nothing basically in what it is limited to..

I really don't care that you have sex with the same sex or even that you want to be legally protected and get the same rights and protections as Married people..

Come up with your own new legal Definition of what you want, instead of simply making Marriage mean nothing and leaving it open to interpretation..

AAP and others have given good examples of how "partners",
be they gay or not get F'ed over sometimes..

I think the best example is visiting at a hospital and being told you can't
see someone because you aren't family..

Just like there are NEW legal definitions and protections for Adoptions
that give the same rights as biological children, there can be similar
NEW definitions and protections created for Legal Life Partners,
be they Hetro or Gay.
