a friend just started dating a guy she's crazy about a few weeks ago.
so vday is like, a few weeks away and she has no idea if he's gonna give her anything (like a card even). he doesn't seem like that kind of guy, but who knows.
she's excited to have someone to care about and wants to get him something... but what?
i say, nothing extravagant, cause its not about that and she doesn't have it anyway. plus, you know... he might not care about the whole thing.
think a card and a little gift is appropriate, or too much?

Well, she might want to get a "general" Vday card & not a mushy one.... One that just says Happy Vday pretty much.... as for a gift, hmmmmm if it's really early in the relationship maybe just a dinner out or she could make him his favorite dinner? Or buy something as a "backup" in case he gets her something, but if he doesn't then keep it or give it as a gift later?

hmmm... thanks girls... i'll tell her your opinions....

I would say a card too. I know my hubby always says that VDAY is the ladies day... :) But if they are so new into the relationship I would say a card and a box of choc would be plenty... and its still cute, and romantic. But nothing to drastic :)

hmmm... good, thank you. maybe not the chocolates, but something similar- i'll tell her.
:)
thanks girls.

I'm not sure about a card - still seems quite personal and could be perceived as too "mushy". If she is going to get a card, I would aim for something VERY general. No hearts, no poems, no talk for "destiny" or "fate" or the like.

I wouldn't spend over $20. ANd $20 is being generous. Even then, she should shoot for something fun and "brotherly" - but still thoughtful, so he knows she had HIM in mind when she bought it....

maybe just something cute?
he knows she's crazy about him but i guess she shouldn't push it. cute is good. probably guys don't hold the same meanings for things like that that women do. she's been stressing over it, trying to figure out what to do.

Well I asked Devastation and I even thought about it myself and I say she should get him a stuffed animal that just says "thinking of you" you know something cute and very small. I love the whole gift thing and think it isnt mushy and neither does Dev. a simple card that says the same thing or else just happy vday is simple sweet and not pushing any boudaries - usually sends a msg the girls is thoughtful and sweet not coming on strong in the least bit. Even if he doesnt get her anything then still its always fun to give gifts.

sugar - im thinking of you sexxy!!!!!
