i was a today looking for tires and a guy i work with asked me waht i was doin. i explained and he said that he used to work on caterpillars and told me to give him a few minutes. he came back and told me jsut let him know when and the size and we can go pick it up.:D so my question now is what size do i need? king told me the sizes he has a as a refference anyone have some ideas to pass along. i was thinking 500-600 pound but what is that in tire size. thanks for all the help.:)

could you go with the guy and eyeball the tires? that would be a good idea, if you cant get the specific size. (probably stating the obvious)

you could see what size spatt's tire is, or bfold. it would be nothing for them to go out and glance at their rubber out in the yard.

23.5/25 16 ply is my 550 tire.

You don't want a combine tire...you want an 'earth mover type' tire. Go out and see what they have, try to play with one or two. Ideally you would get a light one (500-550) and a heavier one (700 or so).

yeah they are tires off of front loaders and dozers i was lookin about 500-600 so 23.5 16 ply is what i have heard many times i think i will look for that see if i can flip it. is theree anyway to tell how much u can lift in comapison to other lift numbers or is it best to just go play with some tires;)

Go and play. If you see a normal sized 23.5/25 16 ply...you can tell how much heavier a bigger one is. Trust me...you CAN flip a 550 tire easily and you will not be happy if that is the ONLY one that you get. You will want a heavier one.

today i saw THE HUGEST TIRE i've EVER seen in my life. it's at some tire shop, out in the front by the street. it's bigger than a couple cars put together.

i've never seen a 1000 lb tire but i'm pretty damn sure this was a LOT bigger than that
