Actually I tried and it didnt record anything for me.

The best and easiest is Internet Download manager(which can be found for "free" on the BitTorrent sites.

Not only does it download anything really fast...it adds a tab/bar on top of any embedded media player youtube,break.com,any streaming site that says "download this video"...click the bar and that's it.

I have tried them all and this works by far better than all the others.

It doesn't work for protected, streaming or hidden files. eg: many tv, movie, etc. sites which don't want you to store the video files on your hd. The players are designed to store everything in memory and write nothing to disk. No way aorund it.

For that replay is the best, as I don't know of any other software or hack that can defeat the quicktime/flash protections out there (even the url is hidden). The other cheaper options, is simply using a screen capture program which many people wind up doing.

Not sure about the quicktime..never tried.

But every streaming site I have tried works...I think most are flv. now.
I've ran into a problem though..it worked before on the movie sites but now the movies arent even streaming at all.

I recently changed antivirus to AVG some I'm wondering if that has messed something up??

Nope. Adobe and Apple with each new version have new secureity features, such as kiosk, port streaming, etc. to keep content in memory so it never gets written to disk. So viewing on itunes, ipod, movie trailers, college training videos, etc. can't be saved. Hollywood is really investing int his area for ability to start streaming free concerts, previews, on demand viewing, music videos etc. Key being you cant' save it and distribute it. Also that way you hjave to watch the ad banners on their site in order to watch the content ($$).

Many of those free porn sites protect their content as well. You can't dl their flv/movs. But with replay media catcher, I can grab anything.

I "found" Internet Download manager on bit torrent but couldn't find a virus free copy of replay.

That program is used for testing any kind of questionable web site or attachment. They use it over at Board band reports when people send them anything that might be infected.

hit record

go into browser and play whatever. then it saves it to the folder the media file. t hat's it.
