STOP NOW!!! YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME AND EFFORTS!!!!!

NUMBER 1 = Diet

NUMBER 2 = NEEDSIZE'S AB ROUTINE - get on it now!!!!

I can't even talk, my abs hurt so much.......

I'm telling you, Legendary Abs by Health For Life is the bomb...been using it since college. One of these days I'll scan the booklet to PDF; it's hard to explain but 2-3 minutes a day and you're DONE.

I'm in no way dissing Needsize's routine, but soreness is no indicator of anything. Don't use it to gauge the efficacy of something. You've been doing 5x5 for what, 10 days? And his ab routine once, maybe twice?

It brings me great joy in realizing you follow what daily protocal with such enthusiasm///that way, if I forget what to do on a given day, I can always ask you......

The needsize thing isn't bad.

I start each day with 100+ crunches. Then once every 4 days I do his ab thing in the afternoon as part of back/bi/ab day followed with some db side bends.

I don't know if my abs are particularly strong already or not, but I have no problem doing this with a 45 lbs plate on my chest and it does not make me 'sore' at all. I will start adding a second plate and building that up soon.

Once I shave this damn hair off I'll let you know if it worked.

I started this a few days ago. I 'm a little cconfised. I had no trouble doing 5 sets of five. Then i added a 25 plate to my chest. My abs don't hurt though. I felt likei was working my lower back too. Is there a way to isolate the abs in this decline position?

id probably guess and say that ur using ur hip flexors only and not ur abs to stablize ur back which defeats the whole purpose of the thing.

lthat happened to me and i lowered the weight which allowed me to focus more on my abs and i didnt really feel it in my lower back after that

so basically ur lower back is bending instead of using ur abs to prevent that and ur just using ur hips to make ur body move up and down isntead of also focussing on ur abs

Ther are variuos routines that different people will respond well to out there. Die tand Cardio is truely the key though.

is training abs "old school" the peeps who fly up and down doing 500 crunches?

the biggest problem i come across with people is they go too fast and dont concentrate on the muscle
once they slow down and make the abs contract, they are fine

IMHO

I like to do a hard set of 10 on inlcine situp/crunch(it's sorta a combo of crunch transition into situp, don't go all the way up and then crunch some more, lower and repeat. That, and some hanging leg raises and weighted ab ball crunches rounds it out. Probably takes less than 3 minutes twice a week. Will add in some moderate weight dumbell sidebends pretty soon.

what are weighted ab ball cruches is that on a big blow up ball or do you mean playing catch with a medicine ball while doing sitps or what
and if oyu mean the big inflatable ball, how is it better than incline situp on a board?

AB-OrigiOnals repost

I hope noone minds I am reposting this to this thread. Thanks for any help
Ed

i found these from a thread about need sizes ab routine, but a search for "AB-OrigiOnals" above title returns nothing, so I cant find it.

I used to belong to a gym that had some communal staps I used and got great results (yes its a little gross like sharing deodorant with strangers). I need to buy some now and found this site. Does anyone have any experience with these straps? I am poor but have decided its worth it to buy some.

I am deciding on the cheapest or second or third to cheapest pair.

thanks for any advice.

Try holding the weight behind your head instead of on your chest. A 45 plate on your chest is so close to the pivot point that it's much easier to move. A 25 plate behind your head is MUCH harder than a 45 on your chest.
