Floor Press?

2Shy

New member
I tired doing a quick Google search for this, but was overwhelmed with responses. Do you have any idea how often "floor" and "press" appear in the same website?

I've read the description for this exercise and pretty much understand it except for one thing:

Are your legs straight out or do you bend your knees? The descriptions said same "form" as a regular BP, but since your legs are bent on a BP I was confused. It seems to me if you bend your knees on a floor press it would be extremely easy to shoot your butt off the floor during the press.

Thanks ahead for clarification!

Lay on the floor, legs straight, and bench! Bring it low just like you would to bench, and stop when your upper arms are resting on the floor. Make sure to use the pins or a spotter, because that's a bad place to get stuck.

Put them out staight with feet shoulder width. Lower the weight untill your elbows touch the floor. You might try it Powerlifting style as well.

As a side note, check out a copy of Pavel Tsatsouline's "Power To The People" book and video at www.dragondoor.com. Hope this helps.

rjl296, Thanks for the tip. I didn't know that!

Spatts and Magnus, thanks for the clarification. I thought the legs should be straight, but wanted to make certain.

LOL, No! I really didn't know about the quote marks. Used them this morning in fact to search for something else. :)
