first injury.. knew it had to happen....

Hey, sorry to hear that you pulled your lat. Training with injurty sucks! Just one question though, what does it mean to pull a muscle? I have heard it a lot, but i never knew what it mean. i only recently found out what muscle spasms were. I thought they were crazy, sporadic movements, but i found out from a doctor that a spasm is actually just scar tissue inside the muscle.

Now, trying to figure out what a 'pull' is??

I think it's actually a small tear in the muscle. It's a pain in the muscle that stabs at me when I use the muscle (ie contract it),or put any strain on it. It's not bothering me outside training for the moment as it's not a whopping big tear in the muscle. "Pulling a muscle" afaik isn't a technical term.

I am seeing a physio about it on Thursday, they should be able to advise me. I have found I can still do karate without much pain (as long as I do things correctly and work the hips not the shoulders in each upper body technique), woohoo!
