First cycle

so after reading a lot about the subject i decided to try it out, this is my first time and my goal is not to bulk up, but to lean out and have some lean keepable gains

i'm 41 years old, 6ft about 225lbs, and i have a dadbod about 25%body fat or between 25% to 29% (guessing)

i would like some advice, i cleaned up my diet and stopped junk food about 6 months ago. i go to the gym about 4 to 5 days a week

no flaming plz

i was thinking of doing an Anavar cycle only, with clomid for pct

but was also reading about tbol and Primo

i'm not looking for big gains, if i gain 5 to 10lbs of lean muscle and lose body fat (go down to 12% ) i would be happy

not sure if it's possible

any ideas, or feedbacks would be appriciated

Bro. Aas shouldn't be touched unless you are under 15% bf. Seriously. If you had done the research you would know that's a horrible idea. The side effects are so much more likely to show themselves.

As far as your questions. Oral only cycles are not advisable. Test should always be a base. But then again, adding test right now isn't advisable.

Doing aas is not going to make you drop from 29 to 12%. Diet is going to be the main thing. And yes keep up the gym time.

Have you ever had bloodwork done?
 
aas arent fat burners they build muscle. clean your diet up do some cardio and drop some weight then maybe think about a cycle
 
As I mentioned in my post I cleaned my diet and I am in the gym 4 to 5 times a week

But would like to try a cycle...if var is the wrong thing then do you have any other recommendations....
 
then stay with what you are doing now and keep dropping weight. steroids wont burn fat

your more prone to side effects like high blood pressure, estrogen sides, bad lipid profile etc. you can cycle at higher bodyfats (like powerlifters) but only once you know your body better, not i a first cycle. even whilst its viable to cycle at higher bf % i dont think it should be done as aas harm your body as is, last thing you need to do is put more stress on yourself being at a high bf. thats just my 0.02
 
12% came from the OPs goal. He wants to get to 12. I was saying its safest to be at 15 or under when you start. Obviously you CAN do cycles at any size, but that's not optimal or safe. The higher you are the more prone you'll be to sides as Bigorse mentioned.

To the Op. How much have you lost since starting to clean up your diet 6 months ago?
 
Bf not sure but I lost about 7lbs
I'm not obeast , but the gym I go to has this machine that sends electric pulse to measure your body fat, 6 month ago it was at 29%... I assume since I lost 7lbs I would have lost 3 to 4% body fat
Haven't seen that machine in a wile...
