First cycle thoughts...

Hey guys..great site!!!

I have been lifting off and on for many years but consistantly now for about 1 1/2 yrs.
I train 5 days a week, right now I am on a 4 day split with 1 day of cardio.
I am 39 yrs old and 5'9"
6/13- 187lbs
8/8- 174lbs
During those months I comsumed about 1300 calories/day to hit my weight loss goals.
Take in about 150 grams/day of protein (best I can do without drinking too many shakes)
Not sure what my body fat % is..
I am looking to finish off the last few stubborn areas w/out losing the muscle, I am looking to keep my gains/progress more than I am concerned about gaining a ton of muscle.
Also want to minimize side effects.

I am leaning towards an Anavar only 6 week cycle to see how my body responds.
I am also wondering about if a PCT is necassary.
Curious to hear your thoughts.

how the hell did you only eat 1300 calories a day and not be starving all the time? waaayyyy too low on the calorie intake i'm sure you lost quite a bit of muscle on that diet, i wouldn't worry about steroids if I were you and hit the diet forum for now....at 174 you should be takin over 2000 calories daily while cutting....not too mention only taking in 150g of protein daily, that's not even 1g to 1 lb of you body weight, i'm cutting right now and taking in 250g of protein a day no problem and I still get hungry at night lol

1300 calories was tough....I curbed the hunger by eating something every couple of hours...carrots, veggies..etc and drank a ton of water.
But to clear it up a little, that calorie number was "net" calories...I probably ate close to 2000 calories "gross".
Regarding the 150lbs of protein, I know its a little low but it was hard to hit the calorie mark and get the protein....I probably could get another 60grams with another shake during the day but I didn't want the additional calories!
 
guess your bf% or go buy a scale that can guess for you...

imo your first cycle should be a bulker and change your physique forever.

cut until you are happy. maintain that for a few months and then slowly start to bulk.. then add the juice. yeah you are not jumping on right now but it will be worth it in the long run

Body fat calculations are averaging about 15% from several sources.
 
cool... id cut to about 10 or so.. then bulk.. you will need to adjust the diet a bit but that should be easy if you are on 1300cals..

then id bulk.. just what i would do.
 
I don't believe in elaborate first cycles. Var for 6 weeks is fine, but you won't gain much muscle. You might as well just do 4 weeks and save your liver and your libido. Add some BIG BLAST to put on size.

A natty PCT should be fine. Post-Cycle Double Pack
 
Calories are a bit low, even if you are cutting down the fat. I would rather see you eat more than that, and just go more cardio. You don't want to lose muscle mass as well. You shouldn't need any PCT on a 6 week var cycle, but its up to you - I know people who always PCT no matter what they do.
 
I agree with cutting down to around 10-11% before juicing. Anavar is good for strength and hardening
muscle. Not so much for bulking, tbol would do a better choice, oh and would save a lot of money.
The best first cycle is test enanthate only for 10-12 weeks.

theres your answer, get down to 10-11% then bulk with test only cycle...try carb cycling, you should be able to go from 15% down to 10-11 in 30 days with this method no problem....lmk if you would like some help with your diet, I use carb cycling all the time and it's extremely effective for weight loss
