First cycle - Anavar only - what PCT?

cyborgmt

New member
For my first cycle (a "spring/summer cycle"), I am planning to run Anavar only at just 30mg a day for 6 weeks. My stats are as follows:
5'6" height
163lbs / 73kg
Not sure of exact bf% but should be quite reasonable now

For the past 3 months I have been dieting down naturally and doing cardio 3 times a week and have seen results. I would now like to take anavar to obtain some further improvements in body composition i.e. less body fat hence more cuts / hard look and hopefully a slight increase in clean, lean mass without bloating. (I would like to leave proper Testosterone for use in a future winter bulking cycle.)

I will also be using liquid Liv52 and/or Milk Thisle during the cycle and for a couple of weeks afterwards.

Any tips on what PCT I should be running to be on the safe side? I was planning a standard Nolva PCT as soon as I finish the var, but am open to alternative suggestions. My source said I should take HCG during the cycle if I notice any shrinkage in my nuts. To be on the safe side, is it advisable to take HCG say for the last 2 weeks of the Anavar cycle, irrispective of whether or not my nuts feel like they have shrunk?

I've seen this topic several times on previous forums, but you always get so many different views it can get confusing.

Thanks in advance for feedback! :)

How old are you? How long have you been lifting for?? If you been seeing results then why not just keep going instead of adding aas at this point... You do cardio 3 times a week, go 5-6 times a week.. Don't cop out yet bro and start using aas. If you don't have the patience to just go natural and bust your butt at this point taking gear won't get you anywhere either.

Knowing your age does help us with some decision making. You listed your stats,,but no age.

Thanks for the replies... forgot to list my age, sorry - I'm 28 years old, turning 29 this summer.

I had trained at a gym for 2 solid years when I was 19-20 years old, unfortunately stopped for a long time, then the iron bug hit again 30 months ago since when I have been lifting consistently, typically 5 times a week.

I have been advised not to up cardio further at this stage because I will probably become catabolic.

I think it is also pertinent to note that I have gained considerable muscle mass naturally through training and high volume and quality food intake since I started lifting again two and a half years ago.

I had managed to bulk up significantly and for the past 3 months I have been judiciously reducing my caloric intake and doing cardio 3 times a week - during this period I have shed around 10lbs which I believe is mostly fat because I seem to have retained most of my muscle mass and the abs are showing quite well now :)

Also in the past months I feel I had somewhat plateaud in terms of strength (I have been unable to increase poundage on my lifts significantly for some time now) but have been switching things around in terms of my exercise programmes as well as weight and rep ranges to try to get as much results naturally as possible.

At this stage, I could certainly do with some finishing touches (particularly the stubborn fat in the lower abdomen area) and I believe the var should also help me with my strength to enable me to move some heavier weights while staying in the 6-12 rep range.

Thanks again in advance for any feedback.

Sup bro. I've had friends that run var only and never mess with PCT and they come off fine. Since your only running 6 weeks, I wouldn't even recommend HCG. Another thing, I don't think you'll see much off 30mg/ED. Bump it up to 50 and run your nolva at the end for peace of mind.

edit; a OTC pct would probably do the job also if you wanted to save your nolva.

Many thanks for the feedback... my source too actually suggested at least 40mg ED, but considering it's my first time I was thinking that perhaps less is more.

As regards PCT, in order to err on the side of caution, I will probably go for Nolva. Just for my knowledge though, is there any particular OTC pct you would recommend? Thanks again!
