Comments please :D

I know nothing about this but it looks really interesting to me. It almost seems too good to be true. Or if it was. it would have been discussed before.

Anyway, comment yea :D or nay :bawling:

Finasteride doesn't have a long term reduction, you have to keep taking it to keep the DHT low. From the website below:

"In healthy male volunteers treated with PROSCAR for 14 days, discontinuation of therapy resulted in a return of DHT levels to pretreatment levels in approximately 2 weeks"

For more info, visit the www.proscar.com website. Here is a link for the physician's info including side effects, etc.

I also haven't heard of any women trying this, but since it is widely prescribed for men and is considered safe, the theory was enough for us to try it. And it worked!

We've also noticed that it allows my wife to take strong androgens such as Anadrol and DHT derivatives winny without side effects. Maybe by reducing the DHT from testosterone reduces the sum total of side effect producting androgens. This then would allow other things to take DHT's place such as winny or anadrol without problems. This is just my theory, but before taking finasteride, my wife could only take 25 mg EOD of winny before her voice starting getting hoarse. That was the limit. Now, with finasteride, she can take 50 mg/day of winny with no voice problems at all (along with 25 mg/day of anadrol and 50 mg/day of test base in PLO gel).

Well, looking at the Proscar website, it looks scary for women who may be pregnant.

It seems like if it "worked and was safe" it would have been mentioned long ago.

preg. women should not even TOUCH the tabs....

Ditto...my Dr even said non-pregnant women should never go near them either. But pregnant women LITERALLY cant touch the pill.

I know of one national level competitor that tried 5 mg/d for a couple of months for DHT related sides from moderate doses of test. The Proscar made no difference.

Proscar has been looked at in a couple of Italian studies on naturally hirsute women. The drug was helpful in significantly reducing facial hair growth over a period of 6 months. Interesting it also reduced cortisol levels. Of course, pregnancy is an absolute contraindication and these women were not taking exogenous hormones.

Proscar would only work with androgens that are subject to 5-alpha reduction and only if the 5-alpha reduced form and not the parent drug was responsible for the virilizing sides or baldness, and in high enough doses, pretty much any AAS (5-alpha reduced or not) is going to cause problems.

Personally, I don't see any benefit.
